Default Update!

I installed the blinds tonight!

Took a few pics, check out the gallery.

I ordered 2 sets or Robert Eclipse curtains from JC Penney. They are backordered but should ship 11/27, which is fine by me.

Also picked up the shelving tonight.

Looking good there Ryan......the curtains will give a much richer look...not to mention keeping any light out of the room as well......those Eclipse curtains are very nice I hear.

Those Eclipse Curtains are Amazing.

Also helping with Sound Deadening and Almost Eliminating any Heat or Air Loss at Exterior Windows make this Brand of Curtain worth owning.

They can actually pay for themselves if used on Windows where Direct Sunlight Causes,a Temperature Increase in a Specific Room.Or,they also work well in Keeping Heat In a Room and unable to escape from the Room, thru the Windows.

Then they have an Extensive number of different models of the Eclipse Line. From the Basic $12.00 panels to the Top End(100% Light Control Editions)which cost @$30.00 a panel.

They are a Home Theater Owners best friend.

Excellent Choice in Purchasing this Line of Curtains ,Deads.

EDIT: The Addition of the Blinds at the Windows are Outstanding. They Look Great and should help in controlling light as well.

Your Room is Really Coming Together now.Congratulations on All the Great Work.It look as if every bit of it has been worth it.

Thanks Fors! I've never heard of them, so I'm trusting you guys I went down stairs this morning and the blinds are already making the room better

I used to have old quilts hung up to keep out the sun, gotta do what you can until you can afford good stuff I suppose.

Thanks Tals! I'm looking forward to getting the room more comfortable feeling - of course if I spend $500 on stuff for the room - that just delays my projector purchase All in good time I suppose.

I believe we got the 100% light blockout. To be honest, I told my wife, here's the site and brand I want - you pick out the colors I cannot match ANYTHING. She picked out some, I think they were 25 er so per panel, so the order total was about $100 for 2 windows.

Did you get your screen up? I Looked through your gallery again the other day and saw your awesome telescope. I used to love looking at the stars, I'd like to get another one as I live at a higher altitude, plus the skies are clear here, no obstructions.

I have 2 small windows on the back half of my basement that 2 valances could cover up. I may get these curtain valances do just that. They do add some light in the back of the room, but it is soo little it doesn't effect my view of my projector/screen. However, getting the room to 100% complete darkness in the middle of the day sounds cool. I may get the valances to these curtains myself soon.

There's also another part to this equation my good man. Naptime on your day off when no one is home! Complete darkness in the middle of the day, now that is what I want.

That one window does have a direct effect on my viewing, and in the summer, the sun can stay up till 9:30pm here.

My wife was all anxious and mad that they were backordered, I didn't care, they listed the stock date at 11/27, so it shouldn't be too long. Plus, now the sun sets at 4:30pm in the winter

Good point about the sun setting in the winter earlier......and 11/27 is not too long.....but you know how women are with their "decorating."

With the curtains and new comforter set from overstock, it's kicking in. Maybe it's b/c of the holiday season.

I got the dimensions for more blu-ray storage, picked up all the hardware, so Saturday I'm going to cut and install the shelving, then I'll move my blu's to their new home!

Things that were accomplished over the last week:

* Found matching upper cabinets for the mini-bar and installed them

* Ran under the cabinet lightning wires

* Finished the shelving for the built in blu-ray storage

* Robert Eclipse curtains came in from JC Penney, put them up, looks great! now I just need to get some ring tie backs

Overall it was a productive week. I didn't get to my laundry room ceiling, guess that will have to wait for now.

Pictures will be forthcoming!!!

Thanks man! Things have been extremely busy with family in town, now that the holiday is over things can get back to normal - whatever that may be

I was very happy to find the upper cabinets to match the lower ones. The total cost on them was about 230 for 2 30x30x12 wall cabinets, so it was a great deal.

My transformers 2 imax edition came in the mail as well! Can't wait to watch it!

The eclipse curtains are very nice, good quality curtains for the price. They do the job for total blackout as well.

Hey Ryan, just to give you heads up per your post in my thread, but I got a replica Gimli battleaxe from LOTR and a replica Frodo Sting sword that actually will glow blue (when Orcs were nearby) off of Amazon. Together they were $530, but I got both for over 80% off, and paid a total of just $85...for a LOTR nut like me, it was the steal of a lifetime!

Sure, check them out...and I have had some doubt about my mother-in-law, so if the sword glows blue around her, it will only verify what I have been thinking for some time now....

Frodo's Sting sword

Gimli's Battleaxe

You are correct sir. The battleaxe comes with a plaque, but the sword does not. However, I have a shelf with its name on it for the sword....it should come together nicely. You should check the other items from LOTR that they have, other swords and stuff...some of it is over 60% off or more as well.....

Weekend was EXTREMELY busy, no chance in getting photos as the boys were kinda sick, terminator salvation didn't come in the mail either

But hopefully today or tomorrow, I'll get the pics of the new window treatments for the basement up.

I may take some time off from projects and spend time with the family for the rest of the year.
