Any word on Resident Evil. - Blu-ray Forum

Hey I was wondering if any one had heard a release date for either of the Resident Evil titles. I know R.E.A. was TBA 1 week before the release.

REA is listed on the release thread sticky as Dec. 31st. I don't know if that's tentative or confirmed, but this early in the game, just about everything is subject to change

Resident Evil is listed as a US December 31 release here You can see a few details and the cover. There are a few movies on that date and then the next day, which seems a little strange. An idea I have is that some of these are placeholder dates, awaiting to be reassigned as the strategy for Blu-ray deployment unfolds. As you know, the Sony player has been delayed a few times, so probably, if for example 30 titles were planned for inmediate release in the weeks after a player's release and this gets delayed, like chess pieces, these unnanounced titles might be moved forward or backwards to better fit into the volatile situation. If you look closely at the Overall releases list, you'll see weeks that have only a couple of titles, while other weeks, a chockfull of titles. If all BD players were released on time before those dates, I'm sure the "almost empty" weeks would suddenly pop up with new titles. Kind of a filling the slots game, if you need them filled.

RE 2 has a release date of 01/01/07 in Japan (which was announced last week). Would expect a US date to be announced fairly shortly.
