Does WinDVD BD work with "FF:ROSS" & "Day After Tomorrow"?

Has anyone used WinDVD 8 and succeeded in playing "Fantastic 4: Rise of Silver Surfer" & "The Day after Tomorrow"? If yes, what's the version of the patch file used in WinDVD 8?

haven't tried it yet. I use WinDVD 8 Platinum, but my current hardware does not suffice. I'll buy a new laptop in less than a month.
However, you need to make sure it's not just regular WinDVD 8 Gold/Platinum. It must be WinDVD 8 HD/BD

I just find out today that WinDVD 8 Platinum HD/BD only support NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT, GeForce 8600GT, GeForce 8600GTS. Thats no good. Core stop getting lazy.

I beg to differ, mainly because if you run their verification tool software it'll tell you if your setup will work, and seeing as how i use a 7950 GTX and the test results said it was ok, I'm thinking that's a no to just those 3 cards.

no sir, cant play TDAT despite the fact that i own latest sony vaio fz18g

didnt try Fantastic 4: Rise of Silver Surfer, fell asleep while watching in theatre

What's your WinDVD BD version? Have you updated to the latest version?

Check through my posts or at least through this forum for links that I've listed for Power DVD. And just use Power DVD to run your blu rays. I've gotten many compliments on it working for them when all else fails We'll get FF:ROSS up and runnin for ya.

Is this PowerDVD file any different than the official version? After installing it, do I need to update to the latest patch? Is the file on the link u provided a trial version of PowerDVD? Lastly, can it play "Day after Tomorrow"? Need answers, please, thanks.

It's the Ultra Version, it's not a virus or anything. If it works it works, I mean what harm can be done? I don't know if it will play Day AFter tomorrow. But I know it plays Silver Surfer, so it probably will play DAT.

I´ve got WINDVD BD and a license of WINDVD8 platinum with BD/HDV support that I was about to install.
I was not able to play " The rising of the silver surfer also" on the BD, so I was planning to unninstall it and install the 8 version on it´s place.

But, since I´ve read a couple of your posts, I´ve noticed that I should go for the Powerdvd... that it will solve all playback issues.

Is that correct?
