So no we have to write HD DVD without the hyphen?! What gives?

Also is it Blu-Ray or Blu Ray ... ?

I dunno if anything changed recently, but last time I checked P/DW were saying their discs can only be played on "HD-DVD players" on the back of their cases.

HD DVD is properly spelled without the hyphen, but a lot of "official" sources use the dash anyway. Blu-ray, on the other hand, is hyphenated and spelled with a lower-case R. In its full name Blu-ray Disc, the two capitalized letters are B and D, hence where the acronym BD comes from.
