is it on amazon.ca without a designation of "import"?
probably the easiest way to find out.

Never seen that version in any stores and I doubt any would have it since it is the American version but I ordered it from amazon.ca and they have it in stock right now so seems they are keeping it regularly stocked unlike some other imports they sell that they rarely stock and you basically have to order the very first time they sell them. Such as Downfall on Blu-Ray. Glad I wasted no time ordering it the first time they sold that since I have never seen it restocked.

Anyway.... http://www.amazon.ca/Christmas-Carol...1451839&sr=8-2

Kind of sad that the American import that is far superior to the Canadian one is cheaper on amazon.ca For that matter seems to me when I ordered the American version of Requeim For A Dream for the same reason it was cheaper to. Feel bad for people who don't do research and buy the awful Canadian releases and also end up paying more for them.

Bay Street Video in Toronto carries it, although I'm not sure what their price is, or if they have any stock left.

They're at:
1172 Bay St (west side of Bay, between Bloor and Charles)
416-964-9088

Entrance to where they are (have to go down a small hallway; they no longer have a storefront on the street) is beside the Tim Hortons.

Why is it superior? Because it has a DVD of the film as well?

I had the other non VCI version of A Christmas Carol and it had flecks of debris on the transfer left, right and center I did not want to take that chance on the Blu ray.

I KNEW I read something about this somewhere... There's another thread discussing the differences between the two of releases; for anybody interested, here's the link:

That is the US VCI cover.

Well for the reasons already mentioned but that is a nice bonus too. The DVD is so awful that it is a great way to convert Blu-Ray doubters since even the blindest person in the world can tell a difference with this movie

A lot of Canadian exclusives are suffering from much more than just the barebones lack of extra releases so I don't know why some people seem to think it is just about some extras.

Just another example with the other movie I commented on in that post of mine you quoted...

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...am_blu-ray.htm

And yet again like I said you can get it cheaper on Amazon.ca than the Canadian one.

Whatever Works is 1080i in Canada vs 1080p in the US.... http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...ks_blu-ray.htm

Been happening a lot and it has left me bitter with Canadian publishers. Not all are bad but if companies are not going to do it right I wish they would just pay to manufacture the US versions and not have to worry about finding US versions on amazon.ca or importing if amazon.ca don't come to the rescure.
