Versus Blu-ray from Tokyo Shock original release date 12/29/09.

Now delayed until March 30, 2010.

Tokyo Shock has delayed Ichi the Killer three times already & are now doing the same with Versus.

Has anyone ever watched the Tokyo Shock Ultimate Versus DVD(steelbook)upscaled to 1080p?
This awesome movie deserves a better transfer!
But i want the extended cut of Versus on blu ray!

Versus was a super low budget movie... I doubt it could look much better

Actually it did look better from the austrian DVD but that was the regualar cut of the movie.
This american steelbook has a horrible picture quality!

Ya, but even still. I wouldn't expect too much out of it on Blu. Since it is a low budget film.

Has anyone confirmed whether this is the Ultimate Versus or just the regular cut?

i don´t expect it to look like Transformers
But i hope that they won´t release it with a terrible picture quality like the steelbook dvd.

Maybe Amazon will drop the price on Versus Blu-ray to $13 like they did with Ichi the Killer Blu-ray...

Ultimate Versus was the big "restoration." I think they did what they could, that's why the new scenes are of slightly better quality.

...and like everyone else I'm also waiting on Ichi the Killer. They can take all the time they need if they put out the definitive version of the movie. I'm not going to hold my breath though.

the new scenes are in better quality because they refilmed those a long time after the regular cut of the movie came out.They didn´t remaster the actul versus though,it looked horrible on this dvd.
The austrian Versus has a better picture quality than this but unfortuately it´s not the extended cut.

Well that was exactly my point. I believe they did try to touch up the old footage so the transitions wouldn't be so jarring. I have the original Japanese R2 of Versus and the R1 Ultimate Steelbook, the R1 Ultimate Versus looks much better than how it did originally (I prefer the original cut though)

I'm going to wait and hear how the Versus Blu-ray turns out before buying it... I don't own a decent copy of Ichi the Killer so it doesn't feel like a real risk.

I couldn't care less about Ichi, but I was really looking forward to this. Figures they would wait less than one week before it was supposed to be released to announce it's delayed.

i´m really anxious to read a good review of the upcoming Versus blu ray.I really doubt that they will make this movie look better tha the dvd.
And if that´s the case i will not buy it.
The jp. DTS-ES Discrete Audio Track is pretty good onthe steelbook edition.
I also own the japanese Drector´s Cut DVD,but i rebought the movie because it didn´t have english subtitles.
