Arrow The Collector (finally announced!) -- April 6th

This announcement took forever. This was released theatrically on July 31st this year and after 9 months it officially gets a release date. By the way, I was luckily enough to catch a screening (which was very very limited in theaters) and it was actually quite enjoyable, more brain was put into it then the SAW films.

EDIT: By "The Collector" I mean the 2009 independent horror/thriller and not the 1965 film with the same title and stars Terence Stamp. Don't get your hopes up, I still would've much preferred that one over this one

I'm not setting my hopes high, but I'll definitely be netflixing this as I hear it features some pretty groovy Argento-esque cinematography and lighting.

Has Vivendi ever done a blu release? I REALLY hope this gets a good transfer. After all we have had to wait so damn long.

I have not seen this. I love horror movies. Is it worth blind buying when it comes out?

They do not appear to be a very good distributor, going off the review here for Speed and Angels. That was released in 2008 by Vivendi. The reviewer calls it one of the worst transfers he has seen, and only lossy audio is included. I hope they turn it around since they will be distributing many of Weinstein's titles now.

This movie was really really good.

Best part was the torture of Denis Leary's wife from Rescue Me, whom I hate!

At the very least this movie deserves Lossless Audio. The use of sound was one of the best parts of this movie, especially when Arkin realizes someone else is in the house, the pounding bass of "Dead Bodies Everywhere" starts up in sync with the footsteps of the intruder. Very creepy.

The best way to describe this movie would be a combination of Panic Room and Saw. I did enjoy this much more than Saw IV and V, if only because the ending actually delivers something with impact (the screenwriters knew what they strengths were and played to them).

I am hoping they really do give us a decent transfer for Collector. Would really suck to see some crappy video and audio.

I also noticed there releasing The Protector(starring Tony Jaa) one day before The Collector.... odd.

The Collector Blu-ray
Hey I have that Original Theatrical Poster. Didn't see this but will rent it. If it as good as the first SAW then I will make it to a buy.

I'm also hoping for a sequel, hopefully the filmmakers will find the time to do it after they're done writing Saw VII. The opening credits had a strange music video feel to them.
