Anyone heard if the new series Pushing Daisies is coming to blu-ray? Also, I'm a big fan of Barry Sonnenfeld, so would like to see Men In Black, Men In Black II, and Wild Wild West on blu-ray and hopeully soon...
Would love to have Addams Family and Addams Family Values on blu-ray but gotta wait for Paramount to come to their senses... Thanks much if anyone has info on these titles coming to blu-ray... |

I was also pleasantly surprised. I just recorded it one day because I heard a couple of good things (I never saw a preview for it or anything). Definitely one I plan on watching more!

I wanted to see this, but I forgot the first episode, so unfortunately, that means I probably not watch it at all. Anyway, what studio is this from? It is on ABC, right? I would guess that it would come out on BD if the show is a hit. If it gets cancelled before the end of the year, then probably not.

It's a WB show, produced by WB and sold to ABC for an enormous cost per episode.

Get Video9 from red kawa
http://www.redkawa.com/videoconverters/ps3video9/ It has a "wizard" but I don't like it, I want to bloody well control the conversion, not just click radio buttons and hope for the best. To gain this control, I use the current conversion tab to launch the conversions, and I use an encoding profile I set up under the converter tab which is under the settings tab First Create an encoding profile (or modify one of the existing ones) General video tab MPEG-4 AVC Main profile Level 3.1, ABR 2048 kbps Original resolution across the board, and enable the auto resize to 1280*720 and enable auto framerate. The rest of the video tabs can be left alone, except for the "advanced 1" tab, if you have a multithreaded OS, you need to enable multithreading, I run WinXP-32 on a duocore machine, and enable a total of 4 threads (cuts the processing time in half) On the audio tab, I run AAC-LC, ABR, 160kbps, Stereo in the channels, and use the original sampling rate. 2048 kbps is OK for 720P using AVC, but if you transcode to MPEG2 so you can stream to your PS3 (I have NEVER had luck streaming MP4 but MP2 streams wonderfully), you need higher bitrates, even going up to around 15360 kbps for fast action 1080p When you are done setting up the profile, go ahead and make it the "one click profile" and don t forget to save your changes on the setting page. Second Go into settings, and tell it where to output the transcoded file Third Go to "current conversion" and start a conversion When you are set up, you should be able to convert a 45 minute video to about a 700MB file or so. Happy transcoding, and let us know how it works for you. |

A made a thread about the show in the off topic or maybe general section last week after the first episode aired. my thoughts ont he first episode are there, but im too lazy to go look for it.
i really really loved the first episode. i felt the second lost me a bit on a few things i didnt care for. overall though, ill keep watching. the show is too quirky for the general audience though, so i doubt it lasts. |

I forgot to mention, transcoding, like all things computer is a GIGO process, Garbage in, Garbage out.
You need to start with good quality x264 coded 720p mkv files, the size should be about 1.2 GB or so for an hour long episode, 600MB or so for a half hour... these recommended sizes are NOT cast in stone, but remember, the smaller your original file before transcoding, the lower quality your transcode will be. |

Sorry for hijacking the thread
![]() I totally agree with you "u_nick" there were a couple things I didn't like, but for the most part, I enjoy the quirkeyness... alas, I also agree, that it won't last either. What the heck, you got to love a restaurant called the "Pie Hole" ![]() |

Nice show! The HD picture quality is excellent... Would look nice on Blu Ray.
However, I honestly cannot watch a TV show more than once. I'll only buy sets of shows that I haven't seen. |

Thanks a lot, Iceman. I did my attempts with PS3 Video 9 but I will definitely follow your instructions. Most of my tries were starting with the iPod profile which I saw recommended online for PS3 compatibility. Also, the program seemed to crash a lot. I'll go try it again.

One show that I've been able to watch repeatedly (I've seen most of the seasons over 3 times) is NYPD Blue. I can also watch my old favorites like Buffy at least once on DVD after the original airing. I watched all of Bones season 1 on DVD too. I definitely buy way more TV on DVD than I get around to actually watching. Oh yeah, I enjoyed Futurama on DVD, and have watched some of the episodes several times on there.
