Response to Blu-ray Haters - Blu-ray Forum

I have this one friend who keeps saying "Blu-Gay does nothing. Who cares if it's grainy. As long as you can see whats going on, it doesnt matter. Its a giant waste of money."

What would you say in response to that?

With Blu-ray your basically seeing the 2K scan of the camera negatives. Your seeing the movie exactly how it's meant to be seen and how it was seen by directors.

he has yet to see movies that have great PQ. and, most likely an xbox fanboy.

I'm sure your friend realizes that Blu-rays look good. I think his problem is; he simply doesn't care. Some people don't care about picture quality. As long as it's DVD quality or better they're happy. And most of the time you won't be able to convince them otherwise.

I did. Believe it or not he actually quoted "Theres no difference. It's the same thing. You wasted your money."

I showed him The Hangover on Dvd and Blu-Ray.

I also showed him freaking Kung Fu Panda on both platforms and he still said the same thing.

We all have those friends. They are THAT guy (or girl) and no amount trying to convince them otherwise will work. I say just be happy with the knowledge you know the truth, ha ha.

Is he financially strapped for cash? If so, it an automatic defense system for something out of his reach.... When I was a kid, my friends would bash Colecovision due to them only being able to afford the Atari 2600...

Not trying to sound like an elitist or anything but I have seen this sort of thing in regards to many things (Cars, TVs, Clothing, etc...)

Just an idea...
