Interesting phone call i have to make...

So my brother just called me in a huff, he wants me to call his in-laws for him. They went out and bought a 42" Insignia lcd at best buy when they can get a Panny 42" C1 or X1 for the same price at certain stores... This is going to be interesting I just hope i can water down my rant about how much better the panasonics are to go gently on them lol

You can tell them Insignia's will have technical issues in the near future and they can get higher quality tvs in the same price range.

I have one of those Panny X1 sets and would definitely make the swap.

I am perplexed at why the brother can't handle this himself. I would think the in-laws would understand the situation and would respect him more if he handled it himself.

He needs to "man up" and handle it himself.

I desperately hope that you aren't part of my extended family pal. I tend to think that truth and honesty (although sometimes it creates conflicts) is what makes family a stronger and tighter unit.

Sometimes a small white lie can be best and we're talking about TV technology here, not "oh I didn't sleep with my wife's sister" type-thing.

Who in their right mind would buy an Insignia and expect to be satisfied?

They will regret that purchase down the line. You can tell them "I told you so" once something happens.
