Thought I'd resurrect my thread for a while and ask for some feedback:

Apparently Fry's is having a sale on the MARTIN LOGAN ABYSS 12" 300 Watt Powered Subwoofer for $399.00+TAX. In Store only and it has a list price of $1099. I've had my eye on it for a few years and was wondering what other's thought about it?

Appreciate any feedback. Here's the link for details on it:

I think for $400 that is a fine subwoofer. I wouldn't have paid the $1,100 for it, but at $400, I consdier it a worthy buy IMO. Gets down to 23Hz with a 300 watt amp....not bad at all.

Thanks Fors. I agree. But I just checked the availability and it is not in stock at my Fry's and I was told that they will not be restocking it because it is being discontinued. This is good and bad - bad because they don't have it, but good because the price will probably drop across the board. I will monitor it to see if it reaches even below the $400 range.

I noticed when I searched it that it seems to be going for around $550 on other websites, which is about 1/2 off.......good luck!

Rhett,

You would not catch me dead around that vicinity! So did you get Sean to change his ways/preference?

Thanks for pointing me to richteer! Since I always look for deals like this, I may be on the prowl. Afterall, 3 subs would be better than 2 (Don't tell Big Daddy about the odd number of subs though, he would flip!)

Yea...we did a drive by last night and Sean really like them rainbow spires over there. He said they are going to the Museums today but I think that's just smoke screen! I know exactly where they're going

Sure, but there really is nothing to it and it got way to hyped-up. I have no idea why anyone would consider it adult content or why anyone would get offended? I will try to send it to you via PM.

Thank you Franin. I checked out your Gallery and gave you a 10! I really love your CIH set-up, you really optimized your space nicely! I'm curious about what impact your accoustic panels had, did you get a chance to test the with and without? I'm sure there is a difference, but how big of a difference did they make? In a room that size, I would expect the difference was huge.
