Not too surprising that they're finally caving in on this market, considering how well Blu-ray recorders sell in Japan despite their high price.

A lot of Japanese people on the internet are viewing this as Toshiba doing a dogeza, i.e. one getting down on their hands and knees then bowing their heads until they touch the ground to ask for forgiveness
