Don't forget also that Rock Band has huge music deals tied up through MTV

There will be albums in the next 6 months that will ship on CD, iTUnes and Rock Band

I hear more and more that they've got Appetite for Destruction (we know for a fact they've done up Welcome to the Jungle) as an album download before Christmas

Their catalog will be HUGE for songs, and will include all 4 parts instead of GH's 2

I'm betting that Activision has been petty, and will lock out the Rock Band guitars if they can, but Harmonix won't do that.

Rock Band is worth it on the price alone, and will likely have access to all the GH3 songs.

I might buy the PS2 version of GH3 because I should be able to get it for about $30 on sale, but Harmonix is magic, and I don't like the changes to the gameplay

Awesome, thank you...I was just a bit confused and wasn't sure about those extra buttons.

Since the guitars are interchangeable, I will most likely be buying both games then. Originally just GH3

What I'd like to know is what level of Audio Quality is on the PS3 verison. They didn't go lossless/PCM did they?

That's a good question and I almost asked the guy at Gamestop. I only stopped when I realized he probably wouldn't know what the heck I was talking about.

wow i guess i'm then only one who couldnt find info on it...maybe i didnt look hard enough haha...thats good that means i can get rock band and just get the GH games w/o the guitar's

just curious the 170-200 for rock band that comes w/ the drums,mic,and guitars right? or is it the instrument of your choice?

i looked at the product description and it says it comes w/ all but that seems cheap considering the drums and guitar are like 70 dollars each separate

From what I read on the around the internet is that Rock Band will only be sold as a bundle at first.

Crap - I was just looking at the song lists for GHIII vs. Rock Band, and I think I like Rock Band better.

Plus the drums would be fun...

I think i gotta cancel my pre-order for GHIII and go with Rock Band. But that means waiting until the end of November!

Maybe I'll get both...

i was looking at them on amazon and did anyone else notice that the xbox360 version is now the same price as the ps2 and wii version? why is the ps3 one still more? i dont get it why is it 10 dollars more on the ps3?

Someone asked earlier. Here is the info on the included instruments from the Harmonix website:

A Special Edition bundle of Rock Band™ will be available for purchase in November 2007. This Special Edition box includes game, guitar*, microphone and drum set -- everything you need to get in the game and rock out! The Rock Band™ Special Edition is available for both the PS3 and the X360 and will support 1-4 players. Rock on.

*guitar is wired for X360 and wireless for PS3
