ABSOLUTELY NONE.
For as bad as some movies are, Hollywood should put a ban on all remakes unless you've made 5 original films (written or directed) yourself. Too many people remake any g*ddamn film they please because they want it to "fit" into whatever generation is currently the hot commodity. That's not what films are about. That's what greed and lack of originality is about.

I assure you, there is someone who wants to remake I Am Legend because the "vampires" in that movie weren't "Twilight / True Blood enough" and people who watch it won't understand because they won't see their Prince Pattinson in the CGI (or however created) "vampires" and thus turn it off and say it sucks.

End rant. Sorry for the anger, but I'm sick of remakes

Agreed. And, I am watching my PS3 60GB right now. You know you can get a refurb 60 gig from Sony, same model, by sending it in for about $160 bucks?

From Hell is based on a graphic novel.

It's not supposed to necessarily be true to life. Furthermore, I am confident that there have been more than a few films about Jack the Ripper in the past and there will likely continue to be more in the future. But for From Hell, that one film adaptation is all it really needs.

As for what I think should be remade? I'll say Dragon Ball. There is great potential in the story and characters, but Fox bungled another franchise with their film adaptation. Would also like to see a Power Rangers movie come some time. If Transformers can do it, so can Power Rangers.

Oh yeah, this too. "Told in a darker and less musical way." Agree completely. It's too bright and cheery for the fantastically dangerous journey. And drop the "ruby" slippers too.

I realize what I just said might sound sarcastic. It is not. I am being 100% serious.

Plenty of good films about JTR. Try the BBC mini series staring Michael Caine. Would love to see Savage by Laymon turned into a film on this subject.

As for a remake, I would love to see Jurassic Park remade (This is bound to be very unpopular). I loved the film till I read the book. So many things have been changed in the film, it is unrecognisable. Even more so with the sequels.

Max Payne would be an excellent Film Noir type of film if done right. But, like others I want some new ideas instead of watching the same damn films over and over again.

Most cases I'm not a fan of remaking classics, old or newer ones including foreign films. I believe that the 1998 Psycho film started this trend most recently. I especially hate when Hollywood decides to remake movies that were made after I was born such as The Karate Kid and when they remake old tv shows into movies....though I like the Mission Impossible movies.
I will admit that I am a fan of a few remakes like Father of the Bride. If you consider Nolan's Batman franchise a remake, that too.

Flesh Feast. If you absolutely have to remake a film, remake one that is so bad you can't help but improve upon it.

Superman Returns I agree with you with.

But, Star Trek 2009 actually makes sense and is a pretty fun ride for the people who realize that James T. Kirk never really existed.

But without remakes we wouldn't have

Invasion of the Body Snatchers(1978)
The Thing(1982)
The Fly(1986)
Dawn Of The Dead(2004)

I'll gladly put up with not going to see crap remakes if a few like these get made.

I actually want a remake of Gone With The Wind, but come on. That would be raping another classic, right?

Maybe The Ten Commandments.

On the other hand, is there a problem with viewers in the world? Can they not say no to movies? Just because something is remade, you don't have to see it. People see something is being remade, they RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE on the internet about how horrible it's going to be, then they watch it anyways.

(I don't mean you specifically Elvis, just people in general that go spastic colon when a remake is mentioned)

With 600+ films coming out of Hollywood each year, the vast majority are new; so a few remakes that do happen I can live with. It is when a remake of a personal classic happens, that I get upset.

I think any film in the National Film Registry should be off limits for remakes. Just a personal thought.

You must be being sarcastic. Both those were better then the originals.
