All that I see them doing now is going into other countrys,..buying a car wreak.

Driving said car/cars across beautiful land, destroying said land. Willfully without concern of the peoples opinions,..for the joy of a bunch of petrol heads.

This should be out on Monday.

From what Amazon says it contains:

South America Special/Bolivia (Series 14) -The Director’s Cut
Romania (Series 14) - The Director’s Cut
Bonneville (Series 12) -The Director’s Cut

I'm curious about the Bonneville episode from Series 12. That series wasn't broadcast in HD, so it may be an upscale.

B.O.T.

Mine's in the post, hopefully it will be here on Monday.

I am of course hoping that "Bonneville (Series 12) -The Director’s Cut" is in HD and not just an upconvert. I'm hopeful that it is, that they shot it on HD but showed it only in SD to fit in with the rest of the series which at that time was stubbornly SD.

Perhaps it's too much to hope, but the Reliant Shuttle would have looked great taking off in HD. Mmmmmm... I wonder???

I have this now. It's 2 BD 25s, first one with South America special, the second with Romania and Bonneville. Bonneville is an upconvert from SD.

It's all 1080i/PAL @ 25fps, MPEG-4/AVC. The audio is 2.0 LPCM Stereo.

South America is extended to 01:25:43
Romania: 0:44:14
Bonneville: 0:40:40

Not region locked.

Sir,

You have said this media is not region locked.
Could you please confirm, if you have tested it playing on A and C region player too?
As it is displayed:

Playback
Region B (A, C untested)
on the movie list page.

Thanks and regards,
amit

I can confirm that it works on a Region A Player, but there are some issues as mentioned.

The BBC Logo Video and 2Entertain Video are in 1080i and can be played on any player. The Episode Selection Menu on the Romania/Bonneville is in normal 1080i. The menus for the respective episodes are in 1080i/50, as with the rest the other disc.

Bonneville: It is an upconvert from Standard Definition, so don't expect a lot from it.

Romania/South Africa: Oh, Top Gear, how I love how you switched to the HD format for this season. Picture is very impressive, but definitely a far stretch from Reference Material.

Has anyone had any success in playing this on a region A PS3? I'm not totally clear on the 50hz issue, but I figured I'd ask before I pulled the trigger and imported it.

Currently there is no way to play it on the PS3. There are however two ways to play the movie:

1) Purchase a player that can handle 25 fps / 50hz material (Oppo is an example)

2) Purchase a Blu-Ray Drive for your computer and make sure you graphics card is HDCP Compatible.

Thanks for the clarification. A shame, since the Polar Special disc didn't have any incompatibilities with the PS3. Oh well.
