Default Blu-ray Audio demo recommendations

Hey Guys...

As I sell TV's and Home Theatre, I am looking to gather some new material for some mid to high end audio equipment. I am looking for suggestions of which movies and the timestamp for some mind blowing audio scenes.

I am looking for material that uses the rear speakers well and gives the LFE channel and good workout.

I already have some great material to work with but there can never be too much.

Suggestions people... ?

Bourne trilogy would be my first and best recommendation (especially Bourne Ultimatum). Surrounds are alive through all the chases and shootouts, dialogue never gets lost in the mix, and you feel every crunch through the LFE. Fantastic demo material.

as a retailer, there are a number of ways to contact the manufacturers to get a demo disc to show off their display units. im sure you've seen a number of them via the bigger mainstream stores, they do have them available for retail needs.

Pioneer has some beautiful Blu-ray demo disc out there, mostly for visuals, but nonetheless, audio can be a number of sources.

I always consider master and commander as my first and only demo disc.

That disc is the reason I broke my original budget when buying my speakers. I kept auditioning until I could clearly hear the dialog through the explosions in the opening battle scene. I've never regretted spending more than I had planned.

There are many good movies lately that can be used to show off gear but I after watching Kung Fu Panda again recently I put that at the top of my list for exactly what you're looking for - uses the rear speakers well and gives the LFE channel and good workout.. aside from dialogue this movie also puts the center channel to work which blends well with everything else for a wicked soundstage!

Thank you for reminding me of this one. You have given me inspiration to watch this again!

Fair enough, but I was hoping to get into more detail... Like the timestamp of the particular scene and what makes it so good. For example the movie Australia a few minutes into chapter 11 when the herd goes bonkers and starts fleeing... Or chapter 8 in Transformers (Desert scene)... etc. etc.

I am in one of the bigger, mainstream stores (in Australia). I find the demo discs provided are not too bad but for audio I have found better through my own explorations which is why I thought I would post a thread.

Master and Commander... I will have to check this one out.

I agree strongly with both of these.

For Ratatouille... use the scene in the very beginning where the two rats are on the rooftop and the lightning strikes. The scene immediately after where the lady chases them with the shotgun is amazing too.

For Bolt, the second scene has some amazing audio.

Both of these are on my very short list of "demo" scenes.

Great movie but not exactly the right choice for demo material, is it? I mean I am in a retail store where familes often shop together.

Did you mean the DVD version of Lord of the Rings as the Blu-ray is yet to be released? I love those movies but I would prefer to use Blu-ray as my source. I already use The Dark Knight and Iron Man (love the cave scene) but I will revisit some of the others you just mentioned.
