Interesting.

Just two questions:

1) Do you happen to know if it's the 145 minute version, or the 288 minute version? Edit: NVM, upon closer inspection, it's the 145 minute version

2) Only a standard DTS 5.1 track? Boo

Red Cliff is a fantastic movie, but only the 288 minute version. This is the 145 minute version, and feels rushed.

Not a huge fan of this cover and I already have two versions of this movie. If it's cheap, I may buy it.

I enjoyed both parts 1 and 2 but it's not a perfect. Although even with the fully uncut two disc version there is a lot of characters and plot information to cover in 5 hours. Having some familiarity with the story helps. The video and audio is fantastic, near reference quality for current release imo.

SB cover looks kinda meh imo as well. So much more they could have done with it TBH... even the words "Chi Bi" on the mountain like in the intro would have been more awesome than the backside of a character (can't really tell who it is) in this one.

Movie is good imo but don't watch the cut version that is being released internationally... gotta watch the uncut version. Like the above posted, i will only grab this if its cheap but i somehow doubt it

I have the Taiwan edition (Part 1&2) which is theatrical long version with DTS-HD MA7.1/TrueHD 7.1/PCM 7.1 Mandarin audios and english subs. Really hesitate on this mean steelbook edition

There are two versions.

Red Cliff (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Cliff-Bl...3343387&sr=8-4) is the 145 minute, United States Cut

Red Cliff: Special Edition (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cliff-Specia...3343387&sr=8-1) is both Part I & II for 288 minutes.

Yeah i got the HK version of it which is the same.. if the cover looked nicer for this i would have gotten it and did the disc swap but the covers pretty bad imo and doesn't deserve me spending extra cash on it imo

Well, this is technically 2 movies for the full 4.5 hours. Its like saying if we combined LOTR together its gonna stretch beyond 7 hours.

It's the same in content but not in aspect ratio. The HK version is the correct aspect ration while the Taiwan version is open matte.

I hope so too. I got the two separate Hong Kong releases. It would sure be nice to have the 2 disc overlay tray inside that SB.
