Paypal doesn't charger for paying sellers.. only when you sell and collect money.

As long as you're just buying things, there are no fees. It's only the sellers that get screwed.

With paypal, the buyer has the upper hand. You don't pay any fees, plus you can dispute things and typically the buyer wins and gets a refund.

As a Paypal buyer, always make sure to use your credit card as the funding source if you have that option. Anything goes wrong in the transaction, the credit card company always has your back. Not so true if your checking account is connected to your Paypal account. That way you are at the mercy of Paypal.

You're right, but in both instances I've been ripped off by eBay sellers PayPal has refunded the full amount. Granted, they had the final call and it did take a couple of weeks, but without the confidence this experience instills I would never buy anything off eBay. And that's exactly why PayPal/eBay does it.

Yet another bitter response from you. Do you ever have anything positive to say? I've been with eBay/Paypal for 10 years now and have never been "screwed" by either parties.

Please...share your stories.

Unless the seller empties the account, then you're SoOL

I believe in that case, Paypal will then withdraw from the seller's bank account or back up funding source (credit card).
