Default Spaghetti Westerns, any info on those?

Well, I personally do like most of them. I mean 3 out of 4.

Once Upon A Time In The West, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, For A Few Dollars More, IMHO those do stand out Matter of fact my favorite westerns. I've watched The Searchers, but I didn't get it somehow.

Anyway, are there any plans to BD those? And who owns them now?

High Plains Drifter would be a must, and possibly Hang em High. Eastwood's the man.

Of course, those two weren't spaghetti westerns, but they were great nonetheless. Hey now I'm craving spaghetti...

Kill Bill vol. 2 was a spaghetti western of sorts. I want Kill Bill!

The Kill Bills were displayed in BD cases at CES 2006 so I expect they will be in the earlier release waves.

Man... I am really puzzled as to how the hell they pick the movies to release. Especially Sony and other BD exclusive studios.

I want all of those you just named, plus Wild Bunch, plus plenty of others.

How about Tombstone?

I want 'em all!

Tombstone is like my absolute favorite movie period. I'd wait in a line up for that one.

I love all those westerns (spaguetti or steak ) and would buy them on High Definition w/o thinking (unless there was a very bad review) all those magnifiscent vistas and widescreen action on HD would be great.

I'm eagerly awaiting for the Lions Gate Young Guns release, to compare, because I have very vividly etched in my memory the image of the sharpness I saw on screen. For some reason that day a few of the factors that make up great theatrical projection were aligned (in other words ye movie gods smiled on that screening) and the picture was perfectly framed, the image perfectly focused, the print clean and new, probably the film was either photographed or printed (or both) in some (to that date) new Eastman improved emulsion stock and I remember noting to myself wow this picture looks great! (A thing I rarely do on theatrcal screenings these days ) I remember noticing how I could see every little grain composing the image perfectly delinated and razor sharp on the screen at the beginning and then the movie proper started and was clear and sharp.

So we'll see what I feel when I revisit it on BD

Glenn Erickson (DVDSavant) is reporting some Leone films are bound for SEs DVDs for June 5, which is also the month I have one Leone BD slotted in (from the CES times announcements) so it may or may not be related to BD releases, but I'm mentioning it here, as something to be on the lookout.

I have been waiting for the 2-disc R2 Leone sets to hit the US for 2 years now since they came out in Europe. I broke down and ordered the wooden case special edition from xploitedcinema. TeleFilms Germany did an incredible job with Fistful of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More. I hope the June release of Fistful of Dollars on BD is still on schedule, but knowing Fox it'll probably get delayed or scrapped all together.

BTW Giù la testa! on Blu-ray would be heaven!!

Found this if anyone is interested still in Leone westerns. Appears to have English dub not sure if region free. With xploitedcinema shutting down not sure how to have it imported.

Nice cover but I doubt it's the official release artwork. However, I have been wrong before..
TGTB&TU is my fav spaghetti western. Who knows when we'll get that. I wonder if they'll release the entire Leone collection on blu like they did on dvd?? We can only hope. That was a nice set!

Good, Bad, Ugly is coming. There was talk of it on Radio 1 in UK stating that special features were going to be made especially for the Blu ray edition. No date on it though.

I think a movie can only be called a "spaghetti western" if it was produced by an italian studio. I think most of them were shot in Spain in the 60's-70's

Don't know if this will be region free, but this is a later entry to the spaghetti western genre.
