I dont hate them, but it does look odd since most of the early movies didnt have them, so when i display them they just dont seem to match good.

They honestly dont bother me at all. Yeah it makes the stack look different but then again, so does the MI box set. I wouldnt throw away the box...

I figure I might as well keep everything down to those bullshit fliers they put in the box also. Movies are expensive... ill keep every bit of murchandise that comes with them. JMO anyway...

I hate them too. Not only are they pointless, but they are also added waste to the environment. I can't understand the logic behind the idea. At one point I had been storing all of mine. Then, one day I opened the closet door where they were stored and they had shifted and leaned against the door. They tumbled out en-mass, which made me think, "What the hell? How many of these things do I have here?" So, I counted them. I had 115 sleeves!!! Isn't that ridiculous? Just think about how much waste that causes! And not to mention the extra printing cost on the damn things. Studios are better off not putting their $$$ into ridiculous junk.

You shouldn't throw away the slipcovers, there's an underground slavetrade market for disney slipcovers didn't you know?

In a couple of years when High Def is mainstream, those slipcovers coulda been the cornerstorne for a college education. Or a 2160p projector

I prefer them on certain movies like Pirates... Good transfer and it makes the cases stick out... I want one on Superbad!

I think hate is a pretty strong word when describing some stupid slipcover. We're you by any chance traumatized by one?

In Japan most DVDs come with sleeves, boxes, metal cases, holograms. Not only is it cool it also gives the consumers a reason to buy an original version instead of a bootleg copy.

I've seen lots of goodies packed with the DVD. Like bookmarks, trading cards, stickers, mini comic books, etc.

The most interesting thing I saw packed in the DVD case was panties from a character in an Anime series.

That stuff becomes collectable over time, but it doesn't make any sense with a Sony HES-V1000 Home Entertainment Server. (I have my eye on one of those little critters, not that I'll get one in the near future.)

I like them, they make them look fancier. On the othert hand I hate that the price tag (or other stickers) tend to be put on them

I do my best to display all my BD with just the Blu-casing so that others don't get the wrong idea. I want to make sure guests understand that everything is Blu. Now the slipcovers, I do not throw them away...they just go into a stack so that they'll be keepsakes later on.

I throw all mine away. I even went as far as buying a box of blu-ray cases so all my cases match (except for those pesky multi-disc releases).
