USA WB Oscar O-sleeve BDs aspect ratio question

What's the deal with the WB Blu-ray releases in the Oscar O-sleeve slipcovers? Are they new releases or are they the same BDs with a new slipcover?

I was checking out their Amazon pages and noticed that the aspect ratios of the original releases are different from those in the Oscar slipcovers.

Case in point: Unforgiven, Million Dollar Baby, Gigi, and Amadeus all have 2.35:1 (or 2.40:1) OAR as well as original BD release, but their versions in O-sleeve slipcovers have 1.77:1 aspect ratio. An American in Paris was originally 1.37:1 but is listed as 1.77:1 for the Oscar release. Casablanca is listed as 1.37:1 in the UCE and 1.33:1 in the old single disc release as well as the Oscar version (not much difference here).

Are these Amazon typos?

Without running down the details on the titles you've listed, I'd say it's safe to to take Amazon BD specs with a grain of salt. I don't know that I've ever seen an Amazon listing that references the high-resolution audio codecs OR uses the correct region coding terminology (A-B-C vs 1-2-3), for examples.

does anybody know whether these re-releases will now have lossless audio?
you think this might be the purpose of the re-emergence of these titles,to include hi-def audio?

They are the exact same Blu-ray Discs as before, even the coverart underneath the slipcover is the same. The only thing different is the Academy award gold slip cover.
