USA Wachovia banking

I've been banking @ Wachovia for almost 8 years now and have NEVER had a problem like this, I deposited my paycheck on Sat morning and now it's Wed and no deposit in my account! On the deposit receipt it said my funds would be available TODAY, what gives. I'm now starting to get worried, as my rent is now due, and I've got some bills to pay! But I have just a few dollars in my account. I checked online and there were no suspicious charges or anything, just no paycheck money in my account. I sure hope they can do something about this. This is the first time this has EVER happened to me w/ Wachovia! I'm gonna go to my bank first thing this morning to find out what's going on, hopefully they will be able to help me out. I hope my deposit is/was protected, it was a legitimate paycheck.

You should always deposit the check as CASH that way its available right away. I have my pay check direct deposited into my account but if we get a bonus or something I ALWAYS deposit the check as CASH. Or if they won't let you do that, cash the checkat the drive thru window, park your car and go inside and deposit the cash. Cash is always available right away.

It may seem like a lot but I hate how long it takes checks to clear the bank!! I've been banking with Wachovia for almost 6 years.

They told me (also on my deposit receipt) that my funds would be available midnight on Jan 19th, it is now the 20th, AND NO FUNDS IN MY ACCOUNT!

I agree..Direct Deposit is the best way to get pay, no hassel and it usually available for use right away.

Just like what Moefiz said. Monday was a holiday so it might of not shown up yet.

If they are in question with a personal check or any check.... it will take a little longer to process in the proof/fraud dept.

From what LeAnn told me... Wachovia is slow when it comes to deposits.

Actually they are usually not slow at all, my paycheck deposit funds are usually available the next day. I understand the holiday jazz, but they said my funds would be available today! When the rent is due, IT'S DUE! I did the deposit on Sat morning, and five days later no money! It really sucks to have no funds available, and my paycheck is very legit!

About 5 years ago I deposited a check and like you, 4-5 days later still no record. I went to the manager and was told if I didn't have a reciept of the transaction I would have to wait for an audit. Well I don't get rid of reciepts, ever. So I showed him the reciept and he agreed I was owed money. as he typed on his keyboard he said it would take up to two weeks to post to my account. I informed him that if the money was not in my account soon, as in the next few minutes, I would close my personal checking account, savings account, buisiness checking account and my IRA. Miraclously my money was in my account in about 10 minutes.

If you have a reciept of the transaction you'll be fine.

Might have to do that, the paycheck is my only money to live on for the next 2 weeks. I can't be w/out my money. I got my reciept and and original paycheck stub for proof if they need it! I know the money was deposited to the right account because I always ask for a printed balance on my deposit receipt. When I go this morning they better have some answers for me!

Like others have said, direct deposit is the way to go. Do you not have that option with your employer?

I thought every employer would do it because of the ease to them and you. Most companies don't like to worry about having to issue checks to their employees.

I do, just never got around to it. I just don't like my funds not being available to me when I really need them, that is total BS! The money is supposed to be in my account and it's not! I'm about to head to my Wachovia now, there is maybe a chance that the online part is down and just not posted my $ yet, I will find out real soon!

And Direct Deposit is usually a day or night before Pay Day.

Yeah back when I was working for the man() we got checks on Wednesday, which meant if you made a run to the bank during lunch you could have it in your account by Thursday. But when I started using direct deposit, it was in my account on Tuesday. A lot less hassle and just better all around. Wish there was a way I could do direct deposit now.

Our work doesn't even have checks anymore. You either have Direct Deposit or they give you a prepaid Visa card for the amount of your check.

Wow that's cool. I never heard such thing.

Then again you can't deposit that into your acct I don't think.. I guess if you pay your bills online, you would have to enter the 16 digits from that Visa Card in order to do so.

Glad I don't have that option, I know I'd spend more than I should at Amazon.

Yeah and you would forget to pay the important bills.
