"Quick Reply" jumps to new page and quotes the post... - Blu-ray Forum

I used to be able to hit "quick reply" and start typing in the box below immediately.

For the last 2-3 weeks, when I hit it, the page reloads and it quotes that post I clicked, then lets me respond.

It's no different than hitting "quote" for me...they now both do the exact same things.

I'm sad.

It works for me, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Sounds like it could have something to do with JavaScript, try going to JavaScript Alert and clicking the "Click here to see an alert message"-button and see if you get a popup-message or if it doesn't work either.

Tried it and it worked.

It's an odd thing. I love the "quick reply" function so it's a huge bummer. I'm starting to lose sleep over it.

Ok that last part isn't true.

Seems to be an IE8 problem. There's supposedly some 'Compatibility view' button in IE that fixes the problem.

My suggestion would be to try and click this button when browsing the forum and see if it helps.

Quick Reply never worked for me at home (clicking it did nothing) but works fine on my work computer. I eventually had to reinstall Windows at home and then Quick Reply came back to life.
