Grand Theft Auto 4 or Dante's Inferno???

I have gamefly and rarely ever actually BUY games. Although, I'm really interested in Grand Theft Auto 4 and Dante's Inferno. Should I just rent them or should I buy one of them? The biggest problem is that it will take forever to get Dante's Inferno on gamefly since they have such a low stock on games. Any suggestions???

I don't know much about gamefly but why cant you put both on your list? If you're a trophy hunter dont go for GTA IV because some of those trophies take forever to get.

Both completely different genre's but I'd go for Dante's Inferno. GTA IV lost it's edge for me. Got 10/10 everywhere but I got bored with it so fast it's not funny!!

Yeah, I heard it was really long but really fun.
One of my favorite games of all time is God of War and my friend told me then I should get Dante's Inferno because they're alike in gameplay and stuff.
So rent Grand Theft Auto IV and buy Dante's Inferno?
If anyone has the time could you give me pros and cons of each game and then a verdict? I wanna hear some opinions and stuff.

If you go into GTA4 without the ultra-hyped expectations that were around at launch you should enjoy it (assuming you've played and enjoyed previous GTA titles). I bought GTA4 at launch, hated it, and traded it in shortly after buying it. About a year later I saw a copy at Blockbuster used for $10. I figured what the hell for that price and gave the game one more chance. I enjoyed it much more and actually beat it (nowhere near 100% though). It's probably an 8/10 for me while GTA San Andreas was a 10/10 if you want some perspective. It's a huge world with some interesting characters. I still don't care for the driving mechanics, but you get used to them. Also, don't get too wrapped up in the cell phone/relationships (unless of course you enjoy them or want to 100% it).

As far as Dante, the demo was a total GOW rip from a gameplay perspective (not necessarily a bad thing though considering how great GOW is ). It looks like a well polished game with an interesting story so I'm sure if you like GOW you'll like it as well. Not sure on its replayability yet though, so you may want to take that into account.

If I had to make a choice, I'd say Dante would be a safer bet based on what you've said already, but you could do worse than GTA4 as well.

Edit - Actually you could probably just buy a used copy of GTA4 for pretty cheap nowadays and just buy/rent Dante as well. It's a win win

GTA IV's gameplay sucks (driving is ok, but the actual combat, etc sucks). If you want it for story, I can't tell you as I forced myself for about 8 hours.. then sold it.

I hate to knock a game before it comes out, especially one that I thought looked and played pretty good, but read post 1160 on this thread:

Not sure if you planned on getting GOW3 but the initial impression is that it is leaps and bounds better than Dante's Inferno. You may want to wait until the price on this one goes down (which will be quick), because I can't imagine anyone picking this up with GOW3 on the shelf next to it.

Just played the demo on my PS3 for Dante's Inferno and every single thing so far in it was God of War, but in a different context.
I'll probably just rent this one. I thought it was just going to have ELEMENTS from God of War, not completely copy it.
Oh well, I'll just rent Dante's Inferno. Thanks everyone!

Are you planning on buying God of War III? Cause if so, don't buy Dante's Inferno because it's the same game essentially.

Anything is better than GTAIV. So without knowing anything about Dante's Inferno it gets my vote.

Dante's Inferno without a doubt. GTA4 was a huge disappointment in story, graphics, sound, gameplay, and pretty much everything about it.

I pre-ordered God of War III a while back.
I'm still going to rent Dante's Inferno just because it still looks fun, but I for sure won't be buying it...
