I received the M&K 27" tall cabinet today. It was B stock but looks mint. I paid $100 plus $60 for shipping. It was packaged nicely and included screws, polyfill, wire connectors, two metal covers for the intended amp opening and Skittles!

I'm expecting the amp tomorrow.

Now the hard part is going to be - when will I have a chance to put it together? Here's a few pics.

Unpackaging. Very nice condition:

Size comparison next to the Mk125. The new sub will be placed so that it fires towards a wall, so this is how it will look, nice and clean (except for my hand print):

Comparison 2:

Most sections are 1" thick, the rest are 3/4" thick.

Yeah it is sweet!

I love the fact that the Cabinet came with everything I will need including threaded holes with the screws for the drivers. So the installation will be straight forward. The only part that will require some effort will be the amp, as far as making an enclosure and the wiring of the drivers to it. But it really will be nothing difficult, just will require time, which I don't have during the week. But I cannot wait for the weekend so I will manage!

I posted on callas' thread, but I though I would post here in more detail. It seems that the "Sub" has become what the "Projector" was last year - everyone is getting one. I thought it would be fun to see a list. Here's the list that I know of so far.

Crazyblue - led the way with his mozambique 15" creation w/ Dayton driver
Fors* - just purchased his second SVS PC12-NSD
Callas - just purchased his ED A2-300
Aerodude - just purchased 2nd PA-120
Vega2k - just purchase M&K MX-125 and currently building second M&K sub
Gates70 - about to (if he didn't already) buy a second Paradigm Sub12
JJ - looking to purchase one shortly
Tals - getting the driver for his second Polk PSW10
Ryan4blu - ordered a Paradigm sub
Fanaticalism - purchased second JL Audio Fathom F112

I'm sure I missed some but it's just amazing how we think alike and at the same time!

The funny thing is that no one picked the same sub as another....they are all different subs.

YES! Especially when most of us will now have at least two subs! I know that if I didn't read BD's discussions about the benefits of more than one sub, I probably would not have ventured this far.

I just recently purchased/received a 2nd Epik Conquest 18" sub. It was ordered before Thanksgiving and was delivered in early January. I believe that they will now both be placed in the rear of the room placed upon the Subtraps that were built for them and they will sit below the side surround speakers and both the side surrounds and the subs will be facing the seating.

I just hope that I can control the amount of bass.

As it is I am struggling with the big Prototype speakers to adjust their position for their best performance and may need some adjustments and in all likelihood some Acoustic Room Treatments.
