Default BDA have anything else planned?

Ok. Now I know the PS3 40gb is pretty cheap and will be an excellent Blu-ray movie player and I know that we have a long list of titles, but is there anything else that the BDA is going to do to try and win this war? There is no way it is going to end by Qtr1 2008 but I am wondering if the BDA has anything huge planned for the holiday season. A $400 PS3 isn't that huge to me. I still consider that to be pretty pricey. Any ideas?

Nope, the BDA is done with promoting. It's all down hill from here.

I wouldn't be surprised by a "killer" anounce right before Thanksgiving, probably in the first week of Nov.

(My theory, no "insider" info on that hehe)

Did Panasonic not hint at major price cuts upcoming? I hardly think they were talking about the PS3 specifically...

I think they want to kick ass and take names for the rest of the year. And we should see some announcements mabe Hitachi creates that 200gb disc, or mabe more stores like Best buy and CC start supporting blu-ray exclusive, Or Everyones most wanted, (i think) Universal going neutral and releasing blu-ray movies.

Warner going exclusive would not happen until 2008 at the earliest, but it would be nice if Sony would say that Warner will only support Blu-Ray starting 2008. We just can't let Harry Potter sell more on HD DVD.

I work retail, and we had a conference call in regards to 4th quarter and black friday sale items. We discussed door busters and holiday pricing with our corporate buying office. Our buyers brought up that blu ray players will be on promo. I tried to get some hard numbers but they would not give me any info. So as we already know, blu ray standalones are going on sale or down, but to what price? It was good to know that its official that their will be price breaks on standalones.
