Suspiria region A Spring 2010? - Blu-ray Forum

An excellent article in Feb. 2010 American Cinematographer mentions a Spring release. The screen captures look good. Not sure if its a new transfer, but it's definitely not the UK or Italian.

Text for lazy clickers about the blu-ray:

Tovoli recently revisited Suspiria at Technicolor Rome to supervise a new HD transfer, which will result in a Blu-ray release this spring, he says 'I worked with a very talented colorist, Fabrizio Conti, and we tried to stay as close as possible to the look of the original. I think we did an extremely good job, but it is impossible to compare even the best digital master to a film printed with Technicolor's dye-transfer process, especially for a film as extreme as Suspiria.

I honestly cannot figure out why people love this movie. I'm not suprised it's most likely being released though.

Good news!! I like that it's nothing like the Italian or UK version. I have the UK Blu-ray, and it's not a very good release.

Could you submit the rest of the specs of the UK release to the database? and does the UK cover really say 'taking trash seriously' ? how is Suspiria trash?

It does indeed, sad to say.

Oh, we reviewed Cine-Excess' release over at DVDActive - BUT we have had to take this link down after getting a bollocking from one of the moderators. No, we aren't trying to peddle fake sexual enhancement pills - we were just trying to help people make an informed choice as far as this Blu-Ray title is concerned.

which distrbutor will be putting it out?
i hope the weinsteins still don't have it, i cant see them doing a region free release.
its the one Argento dvd i have that just doesn't upscale well. Strangely, i've found that THX dvd transfers rarely do.

Judging by that article Tovoli seems pleased with the HD restoration, which is the best evidence so far that he is not referring to the botched Italian master! Unless of course he's gone 'Friedkin'.
