Okay, so I just recently started getting the blue screen of death on my PC. About 2 or 3 weeks ago I did a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit. My computer meets all the requirements etc.
Then, about a week or week and a half ago I started getting these blue screens of death. Only happens about every 2 days or so. Today was the first time I wrote down the stop error code. I looked online to see if I could figure out what's causing this and I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm wondering if any of you know how to help me. I've looked in the Device Verifier and Device Manager to see if anything needs updating and nothing did according to those programs. Anyways, here's the stop code error I received..... Memory_Management ***stop: 0x0000001A (0x0000000000005001, 0xFFFFF781c0000000, 0x000000000000617A, 0x00006193FFFFFFFF) collecting data for crash dump.... initializing disk for crash dump.... Beginning dump of physical memory Dumping physical memory to disk: 100 Physical memory dump complete I'd really appreciate any help if any of you are computer wizards and can guide me in what to do. |

Download Memtest and if possible to get into safe mode, run it to see if you have a faulty stick of ram. If the test comes back negative (good ram), at least you've eliminated one hardware possibility that's a common cause for blue screens

Try what Sussudio said first; that's a good place to start. If you want to take it a step further and are able to do so, try actually going inside your computer case and re-seating the RAM: pull it completely out, then set it back in, making sure the tabs snap into place and the RAM is secured. Turn it back on and see if anything feels different about its performance. If you have other RAM sticks available, you might try swapping them.
You might also do this procedure with any component that fits in a slot on the motherboard. Sometimes it's just the little things like this that make a computer go haywire. |

Are you running this on a desktop or laptop? I ran into the Blue Screen a lot on my previous and current Toshiba laptop. Since Toshiba had their engineers look at the laptop and fix it, it's been ok since I've gotten it back in November.

Dunno if this will be helpful, but...
I reinstalled Windows just to get IE to run better. Not long after, I started getting the blue screen once every day or two. It took me quite awhile to figure out what was causing it. It turned out to be my video card driver. I had downloaded the latest Nvidia driver after my reinstallation. I finally decided to use an older, compatible driver and it has been almost a year with NO blue screens of death. |

Bad memory is a common cause of BSOD.
If you have multiple memory slots try removing one for a day and then rotate through however many you have. I had bad memory a lot years ago and I bet it's less common now but still a possibility. -Brian |
