Off-limit topic FAQ or thread?

Hi there, i'm trying to find an FAQ or thread detailing topics that are off-limits, but am having trouble finding one that is all-encompassing.

Specifically, i am wondering if BluRay ripping (for backup or converting) is kosher for the PC/Mac section.

Even if your situation involves backing up of your own purchased media, discussion would still involve how to go about ripping blu-rays and I believe that is frowned upon here. Hope this helps and welcome to the forum

As Sussudio said, it wouldnt be in your best interests to talk about that topic here as it would be regarded as removing copy protection for BD's which is obviously frowned upon, even if it is for your own personal use.

Just to help out, apparently any type of political discussion is also frowned upon. I made a blanket statement in a thread that had made a few political comments and was given an infraction. My only problem is that nowhere I have looked have I found any info on not posting a political comment. The infraction was for discussing politics. Oh well I guess I learned my lesson. My question is how do you discuss a Michael Moore BD without getting political?

Per the forum rules -
You are only allowed to discuss religion and politics when it is the main topic of a specific movie. Keep in mind that all people are different and have different beliefs, so be respectful to each other. Stay on topic and make sure what you say is directly related to the movie.

Thanks for the response. Can you tell me where I can find the forum rules cause I can't seem to find them. I just want to make sure I adhere to them. I think the OP is wondering the same as well.

There's a row of links near the top. Between User CP and Community, there's FAQ. Click it and then hit forum rules twice and you should be good to go.

You can discuss politics/religion in regards to a film(like passion of christ) However we all know how that lil inch goes........extreme MILE. I can discuss Michael Moore without involving politics, however I cant use profanity in my response
