Default Speed Won't Play on Samsung

Anyone else having this problem? The disc spins then the drawer opens and spits it out. Other dual layer movies work fine. This is my first Fox disc so not sure if it is an authoring problem or just a bum disc.

I'd get a disc exchange right away and see what happens.

Yep...all other dual layer discs work too. Part of me wonders if I got a blank disc that passed through production.

My LXG disc did this. It said disc cannot be played. I put it back in and a wierd circle of dots appeared on the bottom of the screen. It looked like it was loading or something. Anyway, after a few seconds it would load and play. I don't know if some of these discs are defective in some way but all of my other Fox titles loaded fine. LXG looks great though.

I have mine on order, but won't get it till Monday with next week's preorders. Interested to see what happens. I haven't had any issues with any discs yet.

I saw that others had this problem over at AVS. I picked up a new disc and it went through the circling dots and then played. There is definitely something wrong with the mastering of this title. I'll return my original for something else. X-Men played flawlessly though.

Aren't Speed and LXG the first titles to use BD-J?

It happened on Behind Enemy Lines and Speed for me. Amazon is sending a return label but I'm not very happy. Anyone with the Panasonic player having problems with these titles?

I'm thinking of getting the Panasonic (itchy trigger finger... there's a Samsung 1080p DLP TV coming soon!). Does it have this problem or is the Samsung the only player having issues with the Fox Blu-Ray discs?

I went to two BB'S a CC and Wally World looking for Speed today...and they were all sold out.

So good luck finding this title still on shelves.

Yep....I have the Philips player and was hoping it had the needed firmware for this title.
It does not....but the movie will play if you load it several times....it will have a swirl of circles at the bottom of the screen that does not show up on any other title......and then it plays normal after that.

Looks and sounds great also.

I picked up another copy at Best Buy that plays fine. I'll return the Amazon copy to Best Buy and pick something else up over there. The movie looks and sounds great. Quality wise, Fox is doing a tremendous job. I am really liking AVC more than VC1.

I'd like to get Speed but I'd have to wait until the bf gets a PS3 first.

DVD - This is Speed.
BD - This is Speed ON SPEED!

Unfortunately, current DLP tech from Samsung still exhibits the color wheel syndrome of producing random rainbow effects and unnecessary distortions.

Texas Instruments better do something fast.

All that TI needs to do is make the 1080p chips to run at 120Hz and make it cheap so that 3-chip sets are more common. Sony's SXRD is stealing their thunder.
