I just bought the Nvidia 8800GTS, which allowed for HDMI/HDCP connectivity to my samsung 1080P DLP. Picture quality is significantly better than the VGA connection i previously had, but the problem is that the Desktop is too big and doesn't fit within the TV screen. I can't see the Start/task on windows nor can i see the tool bar on PowerDVD at the bottom of the screen. I have tried to adjust the screen area using the NVIDIA utility HDTV "fitter" and hit the "apply" button, but no change! Any ideas on how to fix this?

I don't know what full pixel mode is... would a DLP have that and if it does, where would i find it on the settings... can't seem to find much on the samsung manual. The resolution on the video card is set to 1920 x 1080 60Hz, which matches 1080P, right?

ok, sounds like overscan. see if there is a way to turn overscan off on ur set. what the other poster is saying is that he wants you to set 1:1 pixel mapping to on (turning overscan off)

I'm not sure...but I think you're video card could also have a overscan option that you could disable. At least there is one on Mac OS X

Other HDMI sources, such as receiver, PS3 and HD-DVD player all fit perfectly within the screen with no problems. Would my problem be a video-card issue? My old ATI config with dual x1600 Pro's via Catalyst had the same problem via HDMI

I think it's the new NVIDIA drivers, I had the same problem and I have a S-Video link to an older TV.
Go into the Nvidia Control Panel > Video & Television > Adjust Screen Size and Position |

the Video and Television selection doesn't always come up!... I had to use an older driver version (NVIDIA's recommendation) because AVC and VC-1 titles weren't running very smoothly, kinda jittery, so i know i'm not using the most current driver on there.

Changing setting of you TV should solve the problem. I also have the same problem, until I discovered that Sony Full HDTV seeting allows to change the area to Full Pixel. That immediately solved the issue.

Two points with Samsung TVs (I have a Samsung LCD, don't know if your DLP will be the same):
1. With newer models, there is a "Just scan" option to turn on to enable 1:1 pixel mapping. 2. Additionally, the manual for mine says to rename the input to "PC" when connecting a PC via HDMI, this allows the TV to know that a PC is connected to it rather than a normal HDMI source and allows 1:1 pixel mapping. |

Thanks for the answers guys, unfortunately, my samsung DLP won't allow for 1:1 Pixel mapping (i think that's what it's called). So my only hope is that NVIDIA releases a driver that allows for this to happen via the video settings on the card. If there's another solution to this, I'd like to hear it
![]() By the way, I do mostly blu-ray watching and internet surfing on my HTPC, so some advice, if u want a good blu-ray video card, don't spend the money on a 8800 series card, the lower 8600 does a much better job of decoding AVC and VC-1 from what I have read, the 8800 i bought still forces my CPU to 100% and gives me choppy video! ![]() |

I have an HP DLP from about 18 months ago. I don't know if the Samsung has similar functionality, but this is what I did on mine. If you use the display menu where you choose from normal/wide/stretch/studio, when you have a PC plugged in it will have an additional option for PC. When I did this, there were small gaps around the edges so it didn't fill the entire screen, but probably 98% of it. Studio was the next size up, but still stretched beyond the edges. Like I said before, I don't know if your Samsung will have this option.
