The 6th Day is not one of Arnold's better efforts, IMO. It takes an interesting concept (cloning) and subverts it in lieu of a tired seek and destroy/rescue action plot. The movie was made in 2000, when Arnold was 53 years old, and he begins to look old (and show signs of cosmetic surgery) in this film, which only worsens its believability factor. Even Robert Duvall seems to be going through the motions, with only the under-appreciated Michael Rooker (IMDb) giving an intense performance as a supporting villain.
It is a good movie to watch when it comes on TV and there isn't anything else on, but I wouldn't waste the money on a purchase unless you're cataloging Schwarzenegger's career. |
