Don't give the studios any more ideas.

Am I the only one who thought this thread was a joke at first? I mean, c'mon, Battleship the Movie!? Really!?! Is Hollywood that desperate? More and more, real life is coming to resemble a Mad Magazine satire.

Nice of you to ask! I've been okay. I've been lurking about recently, but only a few threads in the movies forum have piqued my interests these days.

The only way this could be good is if an enemy boat fires upon a ship and the ship picks itself up from the water and moves to somewhere else to avoid being hit.

Yall all know you've done that when playing......damn cheaters....

Good to know you are doing well my friend.

That is true. Except every now and then they would have something original but not most of the time.

It was fine just the ending ruined the entire movie for me. I will still watch the 2nd one though.

Friday Night Lights (TV version) star Taylor Kitsch is playing the lead in Battleship. Battleship director Peter Berg is also a producer on Friday Night Lights. Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner had been rumored to be the front runner for the lead but scheduling conflicts prevented him from taking the part.

Default Alexander Skarsgard Boards Peter Berg’s BATTLESHIP

Quote:
Alexander Skarsgard may not get to wield Mjolner but he’s going to get to fight aliens on the high seas in Peter Berg’s Battleship. The True Blood star reached the final round of casting to star in Marvel’s Thor, but the role ultimately went to Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek). Tonight, Heat Vision reports that Skarsgard will star opposite Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights), and will play “Kitsch’s brother, a straight and narrow naval officer whom Kitsch, a wildly spirited naval officer, idolizes.” The flick is based off the classic board game but instead of putting pegs into plastic boats, it’s about an international fleet coming together to battle extraterrestrial invaders.

Skarsgard is also attached to star in Lars von Trier’s Melancholia and Rod Lurie’s highly ill-advised remake of Straw Dogs. Battleship is slated to open on May 18, 2012.

I don't understand the connection to the board game if it's basically just a sea battle against extraterrestrials. Am I missing something? Does this mean that the ship's captain will wave an angry fist in the air declaring "you sunk my battleship" to the aliens?

So it's a movie call Battleship based on the board game but in truth as nothing to do with the board game, it's more like a Wing Commander on the sea??? Anyone else confuse at this point or is it just me?
