Default Hostel II / Hills Have Eyes 2 shipping Disaster

Ok I'm so pissed at futureshop right now. I pre-ordered both Hostel 2 and The Hills Have Eyes 2 on blu ray from the futureshop website. I ordered these 3 weeks before the release date (which was yesterday). Well they always e-mail you like a couple of days before a pre-order date or on the date to tell you that it was shipped out. So upon waiting for the e-mail and my blu-rays nothing came. So roll around to today wednesday, still no e-mail.

So I decided to track my order through my account. I checked it and said that both items were out of stock, and as soon as they got new ones in they would ship it. Well who knows when the hell that would be.

So I drove a half an hour into the nearest futureshop. And what is sitting right on the front shelf as soon as I walk in. Like 20 copies of each movie.

I than take both movies up to the returns desk. Where some stupid fat ugly girl is working and I told her I needed to transfer my order so that I could take the movies with me. You know use the credit card payment from online and switch it to an instore payment. Well she looked at me like she didn't understand english. After arguing with her for about 5 minutes I asked her to ask the manager why I could not do this. At this point she was shaking her head and her face was beat red, lol. Than her manager came out and said that I had to drive all the way home, cancel my order online because in his words "they had nothing to do with future shop.ca" and get my payment redeeemed, than come back in and by the movies.

To make a long story short, I had to go through two different employees on the florr, which the first one said he couldn't help me because he was to busy even though I watched him for 10 minutes with his thumb up his ass doing nothing. Than the second guy said that I was right and they could absolutely give me the movies and trnasfer the payment.

So anyways I will be watching both these blu's this weekend. That's my rant. Thanks guys

Most of those local stores of huge branches have no access to their servers. That is intentionally done because too many hands that have too much access can really do a lot of damage to the company. Besides, most of this stuff is outsourced to large third party vendors that handle the database and php front end for this stuff. If you tried to do the same thing at Best Buy or Circuit City they would tell you the same thing.

There is no need to get upset about something that these people really have no ability to do anything about. At least you have your movies but I do not think your anger is justified in this case.

You have no clue buddy! This girl didn't even try to help me. She basically told me that I couldn't get movies that I had already paid for. Doesn't the saying go "the customer is always right" and obviously I was because I got the movies. So how am I not justified. If it was you, you wouldn't be to happy would you!

lol @ detroit sports fan.

nothing.sound you purchased and paid for your movies from their online store. But that is online. The clerks at the b&m store (although I agree were definitely less than helpful from your description) have no access to the database that has recorded your purchase online. The online store is a separate entity from the b&m stores. They do not have access to the company webstore database and check your order and make modifications to it.

I can understand if you are angry with the attitude they gave you and should have perhaps explained to you why they cannot do what you have requested but I cannot agree with you being angry about something they cannot do.

I thought the disaster was that someone actually ordered those 2 movies.

But he stated that they in fact did change his order to an instore order. So they were able to do it, the employees were just uneducated about it. See, that's the thing I hate about retail (or any business for that matter) that either doesn't educate their employees correctly, or there employees don't know and just make their own assumptions.
I work at BB part time, and if there isn't something I know, I will go clarify with another employee or manager before I give a customer an answer. I can't stand getting incorrect answers on something I know they can/cannot do!

Yes that is the ideal business motto well paid employees with comission follow (Abt Electronics is the most helpful place on earth). Big box stores offer us a trade off, they charge us less than other businesses by hiring minimim wage workers. These employees are usually high school or college students and they dont care at all about their job. I am one of these employees, I am a college student who has been workin at a Hollywood Video for 3 years (I started in high school), I care very little for my job (as it is easily replacable) and the customers that come in (as most of them are jerks). When a customer is nice to me I am nice to them and I will help them out, but somone comes in yelling at me about late fees as if they were my fault and I will go out of my way not to help them.
Sadly places where the customer comes first are dieing off because customers today have clearly shown they will sacrfice competant caring employees for a few dollars off their purchases. Its the same old case of you get what you pay for.
