Default HDdvd For Real

So I was thinking... Is there a reason NOT to get HD-DVD movies now? I mean it's a dead format, but I can scoop some up for as low as $2. That's INSANELY cheap! Even cheaper than the SAME movie on DVD.

I've never cared about HD-DVD, I've been totally in favor of Blu-Ray since day 1... But now that it's dead and only cost $2 it's hard to say no... lol.

Why not?

If you have the means to play them and you want to watch a movie in HD and do it inexpensively, Why not!

I would.

If I had an HD-DVD player, I totally would. There's a lot of movies I'd love to have:

The Pianist
Anchorman
Billy Madison
Dante's Peak
Meet Joe Black
Mystery Men
The Big Lebowski
Daylight
Liar Liar
Lost In Translation
The Breakfast Club
You Me and Dupree
Ray
The Dukes of Hazzard
Happy Gilmore

Unless you already have a player, there's that added cost. Plus you better get two, just in case. I mean, you never know, you are most likely buying a used player. Or one that's been wharehoused for over two years. For me, there just isn't enough incentive to go through the added hassle to save what will eventually be only pennies, if that.

Sure, why not, if you like the movies that were released and are available for cheap now.

I'd suggest you get one of the more reliable players, don't know about support from Tosh these days. (sorry, guess that falls into the fud category )

My HD DVD player is nicely collecting dust. But once in a while i fire it up to watch one of the few remaining movies that haven't made it to Blu just yet. The last HD DVD i bought was Lost in Translation, didn't want to wait any longer.

Not everything has been released on Blu-ray that is available on HD-DVD, but I recently Craigs-listed my HD-DVD player and all the movies to go with it.....

Everything I didn't have on BD I had on DVD, so I had plenty to watch..... I think 'awhile' ago, buying a cheap HD-DVD player made sense.....but now BD releases are comeing out pretty quick..... so that $2 will likely be more or less a rental fee because how many times are you really going to watch them before they get a BD release.

I bought my HD-DVD player the day after I got my first Blu-ray player..... I don't regret it, and would do it again THEN, but not this late in the game! The game has ended, the band has left the field, and you're talking about buying a ticket while the custodians are cleaning up the debris from the aisles.....
