PS2 wont read game discs - Blu-ray Forum

sorry if this doesn't belong here, but I think the PS2 is retro since you know. The thing is, a friend of mine let me borrow a copy of Final Fantasy X and my PS3 isn't PS2 backward compatible so I get out my old PS2, put the disc in AND....it doesn't read. I cleaned the disc and I tried out other games...they didn't work, but the weirdest thing is Audio CDs and DVDs work perfectly. Anyone know a fix? PLease I want to play some FInal Fantasy

You could search for any information about internal cleaning, that is if you're wiling to open the system up. I have to figure any fix will involve it though, whether its you doing it or sending it in to Sony/other repairmen.
