Default Can anyone give me their thoughts on the Acoustech Platinum Series PL-200

I'm really considering this sub. I have the ED A2-300 on order but I really just cant find the room for it. I was moving all sorts of things around this weekend to try to accomodate it and it just isn't going to happen. Your thoughts are appreciated.

BIC subwoofers are very good value. Read the users' reviews:

http://www.amazon.com/Bic-Acoustech-.../dp/B001W3FXAQ

We also have a BIC Subwoofers thread.

You can't place it anywhere?

the PL-200 probably has similar performance to the A2-300! It looks much nicer too.

I know the ED goes down to 18Hz and the PL-200 down to 22Hz but how much detail is there in movies below 22Hz? I wont be using the sub much for music at all....maybe 5%.

4hz extension difference is pretty noticeable. The A2-300 actually has usable extension down to 16hz. Also, the A2-300 will have more headroom and will have a bigger impact than the BIC.

They get good ratings on Ebay and are Paypal verified. Order through Paypal and you will be in good shape.

My other thought is this: you say you don't have room for an A2-300. The BIC is 17 1/4"H x 14 3/4"W x 19 1/2"D and the A2-300 is W - 18.00", H - 18.00", D - 21.5". That's only a few inches difference. Is a couple inches really the deciding factor?

Yes, room is really that tight. Like I said I tried moving things multiple different ways and I just can't do it. It's not going to work.

I just placed my order for the P-200. For $269 I figured it was an easy choice. The specs look great and you can't beat the price. I just hope I can get it broken in before the LOTR blu-rays come out.

Congratulations. If I ever come back to RPI for reunion, I will stop by your house for an audition of your subwoofer.
