Just wondering, does Universal lock their blu-ray releases? If not, I'm just as excited as the rest of you!

I only care about the first one for nostalgic reasons. Hope we get a digibook version.

Man just when I thought I got into the blu-ray game too late it seems that more and more of the titles I want most are only just getting here! I'll be getting this for my birthday.

I'm going against popular opinion in this thread by saying ... this is awesome news

Hoping for an uber-edition like Close Encounters. Also hoping one of those other titles is Jaws. JP and Jaws are my favorite S.S. films.

Jaws
Schindler's List
Empire of the Sun
E.T.
Saving Private Ryan
Munich
A.I.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Minority Report
The Color Purple
Catch Me If You Can
The Sugarland Express
Amistad
Duel
1941
Temple of Doom
Jurassic Park
War of the Worlds
Hook
The Terminal
Always
The Lost World
Last Crusade
Crystal Skull

In that order. The man seriously needs to stop making sequels, and especially needs to stop making films written by David Koepp.

The question is, which DTS track will be used - the sweetened home theater fixed, taken from the LD and used for DVD, after the initial mediocre DTS track for the dvd was dropped shortly after release, or the studio mix?

Movie taste is subjective, I love AI and eagerly await its release on blu-ray. One of several Osment films that I love.

Jurassic Park, The Lost World, War of the Worlds - terrible scripts. As soon as I heard Koepp was writing Crystal Skull, I knew that film was going to be an embarasmment. I called that movie out a year before it was released.

I'd be ashamed to rank Hook and 1941 over Close Encounters, The Color Purple, Jaws, Schindler's List, Empire of the Sun, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., Minority Report, A.I., Munich, Sugarland Express....Hook? Are you serious? Rufio! Rufio! Rufio! Julia Roberts in full Suck Zone, Robin Williams wearing green tights with a waxed chest? Holy God, you liked that crap? And you think it's better than the films on that list? Hook?!? REALLY?!? I won't get into 1941, because that film is so bizarre there's no accounting for taste on that one - I think it is insane and fun, and the dance sequence is one of the best scenes in all of Spielberg's films...but it's still a mess, as insane and fun as it is.

Hook? Better than the films on that list? Really? Hook? REALLY?

I love Hook, I think it's the best Peter Pan movie to date and can't wait till it gets the blu treatment. Dustin Hoffman, Robin Williams, Julia Roberts and Bob Hoskins.

One man's crap is another man's gold I believe is the saying... You saying you don't like David Koepp doesn't automatically mean he sucks. It's just someone you're not a fan of. I personally liked War of the Worlds, Jurassic Park and The Lost World (except the whole gymnastics thing... that got weird).

And keep in mind, Hook is somewhat of a children's movie. It also featured an amazing score by John Williams.
