United Kingdom Breaking Bad Blu-Ray

Does anybody know if Breaking Bad will get a Blu Ray release in the UK or know of any other region apart from Region A that already has a release. Picked up the region A disk after being told it's region free only to find it's locked.

The problem is that Sony's case is indeed marked with the Region ABC symbol, so there will probably be some confusion for several weeks.

The real issue is if the Region ABC symbol is a misprint and the discs are supposed to be locked to Region A, or if the discs were always intended to be Region-free and were simply mis-authored. If the latter is the case then Sony could correct it on future batches.

Unfortunately, there are no plans for a Blu-ray release in the UK at the moment, and the US releases seem to be the only available option worldwide.

Doesn't help that DVDBeaver had them as Region Free as well. Gary Tooze and his mighty Momitsu said so...

Soooo, that means: DOWNLOAD IT!

So stupid of Sony not to drop this on Blu in Europe..
I just finished downloading it, and now I am no longer buying.
Dont get me wrong, I have seriously tried getting the Bluray shipped to me here in Holand, but no go. Nowhere to be found and I was willing to pay upto E50,- for it too..Just season 1, which is just 7 meager episodes and I was willin to lay down 50 euro...
I didnt take the risk the other poster did, only grab the amazon.com version to find it region locked..F that, I download my shit if they won't make it available on a legal way to me.
just my 2ct.

Any news on a European release ?
The series will be finally available in France at the beginning of 2011, but only on DVD...

Geez, still no news on a UK Blu Ray??? You own the release rights worldwide, so what is the big deal Sony? There do exist a world outside America, you know

I'd buy this series in a heart beat if it were released in the UK. One of the best shows I've ever seen.

I wish Sony would pull their fingers out as far as Breaking Bad in the UK is concerned. They haven't even released season 3 yet here - WTF?! If they don't give fans what they want then more people will go the download route, so they only have themselves to blame. I watched season 3 courtesy of a mate who had downloaded it, and I'm currently doing the same with season 4 which I'm now near the end of.

The series is coming to its final season so it may be happening a UK Blu-ray edition.

Breaking Bad... It's awesome!

[Show spoiler]That one time that Gus poisoned all of his enemies with the drink he brought and then Mike, Gus and Jesse getaway, it felt like they took this scene right from a GTA mission game.

Breaking Bad is coming to blu in the Netherlands for the way too high price of 40 euros per season (only 1 and 2 so far). It'll have dutch, german french and spanish subs. Never expected this to be released in Europe in the Netherlands first. Now if only they can drop the price a bit...

It's now so close to the final series... i almost don't mind waiting to see if a complete boxset arrives rather than pick up individual series

You can get them from Australia, this place works out about £25 including postage. I got season 3 from them, I'd never used them before but I had absolutely no problems.

Can't believe one of the best TV shows ever can't find a channel to pick this up and show it. 5 USA showed seasons 1 and 2 and then the DVD's came out. I'm guessing whoever has the DVD/Blu-Ray rights is waiting until Season 3 & 4 are shown on TV before they make it available to purchase in the UK.

What is annoying that whenever Channel 5 have an advert for 5 USA they use clips from Breaking Bad to advertise the channel, but they haven't announced any plans to show Seasons 3 or 4.

According to Amazon all 5 seasons will all be released on blu-ray on 3 June. The season 5 set is only the first 8 episodes.

can anyone tell me if the Breaking Bad seasons from the UK are region free or at least compatible with Region A players?

They are region free but you should note S3 and S4 standalone releases miss the commentaries of the US releases.

Thank you very much for replying and sharing this info. That's unfortunate. My completist OCD will make this a hard choice.

Thanks! That's the answer I was looking for. S5 is about $8 cheaper from Amazon UK (with the price drop in the US to $33), so I've decided to go with that.

It's just confusing, as Amazon is so often wrong when it comes to region-coding. They even put a huge disclaimer on the product page about it being region B-locked, which I haven't seen before for any other product.

Thanks again!
