American Beauty or Revolutionary Road - Blu-ray Forum

Both feature excellent cinematography, capture the time periods they were set in well and feature powerful performances but I think Revolutionary Road edges out American Beauty. What say the rest of you?

AB is a great movie but hard for me to watch as it sqives me out....RR is also great and easier for me handle.....my vote RR.

I think the films are to different to directly compare. One is a film that celebrates life(even though it ends in death) and the other is a tragic character study.

I love pretty much everything about 'American Beauty'

Revolutionary Road was one of my favorite films of 2008 and I think Winslet should have won for it over The Reader (and Leo should have been nominated...his best performance, period -- in my opinion)........so, that's my vote.

I loved both films but due to Kevin Spacey one of my favorite actors I give the edge to American Beauty

American Beauty is one of my top 5 favourite films, so that gets my vote.

I was a little disappointed in Revolutionary Road, i guess i just found it to be a slightly weaker repeat of AB, and there is only so much shouting i can handle

It's impossible for me to pick between Beauty and Perdition. I think they're both outstanding films.

Loved both and am a huge Sam Mendes fan but American Beauty is about as great as movies get, imo.

They are both sensational films, but Revolutionary Road is better. It still bothers me as to how underrated Revolutionary Road is, like Sussudio said it very well could be Dicaprio's best performance.
