The original movie will be released on its own on Blu-ray in October (per a Full Moon email)

Charles Band just put up a vidcast on YouTube where he discusses some of the upcoming Full Moon Features Blu-ray releases. He claims that the original Puppet Master will indeed be remastered, so that bodes well for the other classic movies, too.

Check out the vidcast here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tzien6KI7pk

Good point. I always forget that the average schmoe isn't as big a geek as I am!

Awesome to see all the love for Jackie Earle Haley on here! He plays a living disembodied head in Dollman, so definitely check it out if you haven't already. I also realized that they have a Dollman/Demonic Toys box set on the Full Moon Web site which has Dollman, Demonic Toys, and Dollman vs. Demonic Toys all in one package, so I could totally see them transferring that set to Blu-ray format.

I have to be honest I havent seen Puppet Master but I want to. I may just buy it because one of my favorite movies is Subspecies, so I hope this means they will look to bring out more of Full Moons movies.

Oh man, you should check out the series; it's great! I'd start with either the first one or the third one because those two are generally considered the best. Then you can work your way through the rest of the movies. Puppet Master: Axis of Evil looks awesome from all of the previews I've seen, so I'd suggest checking that out, as well, even though I technically haven't seen it yet

I am certain that Full Moon plans on releasing more of their movies on Blu-ray format. Subspecies and Trancers are pretty much guarantees since they are pretty popular and have so many sequels each. I'm anxious to see what kind of special box set deals they'll do for each movie to rival this Puppet Master trunk!

Wow...I never expected this to hit Blu especially at this time. I watched all these movies and loved them. I wonder what other Full Moon releases will be coming out in the near future! Very cool! Thanks OP!

So the choice is pay $70 now and get it in June or wait until October to pay less? Will only Full Moon Direct be selling this or might we see this at some point on amazon? I know typically you can only get the Puppet Master movies through Full Moon or third-party sellers on Amazon.

I like the 1st movie. Is this all the movies on blu-ray for $70 or just the new movie plus the 1st one? If it's $70 for 2 movie only thats pretty high price.

Even better, they put together this awesome box set that comes with both movies, some stickers, and Puppet Master trading cards, too! It's shaped to look like the Puppet Master trunk from the movies. How cool is that?

You can preorder the box set from the Full Moon Features Web site now, or wait until June and just buy the movies on Blu-ray individually when they are mass released. I think they are eventually going to release the entire Puppet Master series on Blu-ray and also some of their other classic titles like the Subspecies and Trancers series.

Is anyone else as excited about this as I am? The last few Puppet Master movies were crap but the new one looks really good from what I've seen on the YouTube trailers so far. Plus, I've been wanting the original Puppet Master on Blu-ray forever!

Here's the official info about the Blu-ray box set on the Full Moon site: link

It's both movies, but your paying for the packaging and the "limited" nature of the item. If you don't care, wait and get them for around $15 each when they release individually.

I would guess they will be available at places like Amazon, as any newer stuff they release is (ie Gingerdead Man movies, Demonic Toys 2)

Here's an even better display of everything that is included in the Pupper Master Collector's Trunk Box Set that I found on Charles Band's MySpace blog. It comes with a poster and a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Charles Band in addition to the stickers and trading cards. I personally think all of these collector's items are worth the price, but then again, I am a big fan of the Puppet Master series. I agree with DetroitSportsFan that casual fans should just wait for the movies to be released individually.

You're welcome!

I have been doing some speculating about what Full Moon releases will be released on Blu-ray, and I'd say the best bets are the ones with multiple sequels because I think that they will want to do more special box sets like they are doing now with Puppet Master.

Likely candidates:

the rest of the Puppet Master movies (2-8)
Subspecies (1-4 plus Vampire Journals)
Trancers (1-6)
Killjoy (1-3)
Dollman/Demonic Toys (1, 2, Dollman, Dollman vs. Demonic Toys)

Then I could see them releasing their newer franchises on Blu-ray, too, like Evil Bong 1&2 and Gingerdead Man 1&2 if and when they make more sequels...and, let's face it...they probably will

I might have to check these out...I'm ashamed to say that I was a child in the 70's/80's and I have never seen Puppet Master!

Gasp! You need to rectify that right away

But seriously, check them out. This box set and the forthcoming individual Blu-ray releases provide the perfect excuse to see these horror classics. And as I mentioned earlier, I highly recommend Puppet Master III, as well.

I haven't seen these movies since the early 90's and I've almost forgotten everything about them, but why is there a swastika on the cover of the movie? Where these dolls Nazi's and I completely forgot about it? Lol but I don't get it or remember.

From what I remember the puppets where made in the time of WW2. One of the films part 3 or 4 can't remember which took place in that time and show how the puppets came to be.

Default Puppet Master 1 in July

Amazon.com already has Puppet Master 1 listed on Blu Ray available for pre-order for $22.49 . It states a release date of July 27. I love the movie and the DVD I have is a terrible transfer, so I'm looking forward to this. I'll probably wait unti the price drops a few bucks though.

Did anyone pre-order the box set from fullmoondirect.com? I pre-ordered mine a while back and it still hasn't shipped yet. It says on their website that it's in stock and that it should ship around 6/15.
