Angry Toy Story 1 And 2 10% Off Issue

Hi guys

I am here to vent and I am usually a laid back person but here's what happened

I went to buy Toy Story 1 and 2 today on bluray but I had to buy them at two stores because one was out of stock of Toy Story 2. That means that I missed out on the $10.00 discount for buying both 1 and 2 together. So I got only $10.00 off from the manufacturer coupon for TS1. Now here is the issue, I went to get Toy Story 2 at the other Best Buy store and I noticed that they had a deal going on. If you bought Toy Story and another Pixar Movie you got another $10 Off which I was able to get with TS2 but they did not let me use the $10.00 Manufacturer's Coupon. If Best Buy was having there own promotion I should still be able to use the manufacturer's coupon right?

The other problem was that at this store, the manager told us that at Bestbuy they don't accept Manufacturer's Coupons on the first week because the first week the movies are on sale. She said she had already rejected two consumers because of this. She claims that the store was not getting the money back from the manufacture because the movie was on sale.

What are your thoughts on this guys? Did I do something wrong; I don't think so, this is the first time this has happened to me

Your story is sort of hard to read due to lack of punctuation but I get what you are saying.

Best Buy does accept manufacturer's coupons regardless of it being release week or not. I would suggest calling the 1-888-Best Buy number and speaking to someone. They'll sort it out. If you can't wait, go to Target.

Best Buy is lying to you. Have them PM either the TRU or Target deals and use the two $10 off coupons to get both for ~$17. There's a thread in the hot deals section discussing this topic.

i honestly couldnt understand 3/4 of that.

anyway, you should be able to take the 2 $10 off coupons and also get both movies with a $10 off autodiscount for buying both together

I don't bother using manufacturer coupons at BB anymore as they've given me hassles. Go to Target or Toys r Us if you have them in your area.

The BB I went to last for Ponyo said they would either PM or take the coupon but not both.

That manager was full of crap. Nothing she said was true.

Don't accept manufacture coupons during release week?? The manufacture coupon is ONLY GOOD THIS WEEK.

The BestBuy that I went to accepted my $10 manufacturer's coupon for the Princess and the Frog combo pack Blu-ray/Dvd/Digital copy when the movie was on sale. Also another BestBuy that I go to has always accepted my manufacturer's coupons when movies just come out and are on sale.

I think some BB's just don't feel like sending them in. The BB by my job doesn't accept manufacture coupons but the one a mile away takes them without question.

I guess it depends on which BB you go too
Even thought they all should take coupons without question.

Well manufacture coupons always say " valid at participating retailers only" so I guess they chose not to participate.

You hear this all the time about Worst Buy. Have no idea why they are so damn anal. And to the point of lying to their customers as well.

You guys really need to knock this off already and cut these people some slack. Not everyone was on top of these deals from the very beginning. Just because you were actively searching for deals on TS, it doesn't mean everyone else did. For goodness sake!

Nah, it's cool. Usually when it gets out of hand. I'll help that individual out and send him/her a friendly PM, rather than posting because it will get buried in a matter of minutes. Especially release day.

Sometimes I find myself trying to figure out these deals, so I'm the one sending a PM to the person asking for help. It's better that way.

I think someone nailed it already, but I think each BB and for that matter Target, are independently run under a Manager's direction. Sure it MIGHT be their policy, but unless you contacted someone at corporate or the Regional or District manager, its like whatever they say goes, ya know? They're not gonna change and adhere to the policy until they have to.

When I was at Home Depot, there must be been 3-4 Store Managers I worked under and each one had different views on policies; some were in line with HD corporate and some weren't.

You basically have to find a store where they'll be more accomidating or take up a crusade and contact the corporate office about your problems.
