Default Video games look better on LCD?

Hi folks. I recently bought a new 58" plasma to replace my 40" LCD. Is it me or do video games look better on LCD? Just wondering what others thought. Thanks.

I think they look really good on my plasma, and I don't get the lag and pixelation that my friends who have LCDs complain about.

Have you tried putting the TV in Game/Gaming mode?

I got an lg LED, and I think that looks 10 fold better then my Samsung LCD(which started buzzing after 4 days of use don't make things like they used to)

colors are much more vivid... I think one thing that might be worse is if you're switching from a much higher resolution then 1080p like 2,560 x 1,600 exc.

Well I have an LCD but the general opinion I usually see is a good Plasma will look better and whenever I get a new TV will probably go Plasma unless that is so far from now that some other kind comes along (For now happy with the LCD I have). But like anything it will depend on what you have since not every single Plasma will look better than every single LCD etc.

What are you doing over here in the video games section?

I have to say if you're basing it off of middle of the road LCD vs. a similar plasma set, I'm pretty sure you're going to get a clearer picture with truer colors on a plasma. Then again, you could probably apply this to the whole "LCD or plasma?" debate... and I think most of us home theater forum junkies have witnessed how those conversations end up!

A general rule of thumb is that plasmas deliver better home theater performance than LCDs.It fact that backlighting-based LCD TVs typically can't display black as well as plasmas; it ends up closer to dark gray. The picture quality of both LCD and plasma panels is improving each year, but it can vary significantly from manufacturer to manufacturer, so check our lists of top products. We're nitpicky about performance.

I've played my PS3, watched tv & of course movies. On a Plasma, LCD & DLP. The Plasma was better than the LCD and I think the DLP is better than both of them. At times the Plasma seemed to blur. The LCD wasn't sharp enough. And the DLP was just right. The way I see it is. Plasma's are great for movies. LCD's are great for PC's and DLP's are good for everything. Just my 2 cent's.

My preference is plasma. I think they have the best PQ. I have a Polaroid plasma EDTV that I got in 05. The PQ on that thing is really really good. If I could go back, I would of gotten a panny 50 plasma over my sammy 46 LCD. It was more but would of benn worth it. My sammy is now needing a 2nd warranty repair in 6 months( TV is 2 and a half years old) Furst issue was the power thng that alot of sammy's have. NOW THERE IS A LINE THAT IS GROWNING LONGER EVERYDAY.

Is that dead pixels?

I'd have to say that they look about the same to me just judging between a 50" Samsung Plasma and a 47" LG LCD.

I had a LCD, and In just replaced it with a plasma. My games look noticeably better now. A lot of factors to consider, though (quality and features of the two TVs in question, and in my case, screen size. I went from 42" to 50" - but my games definitely have more "pop" now).

Both LCD and Plasma's suck. Front projection is the way to go.

If you are talking retro games I'd say neither. You're better off playing them on an outdated 1980-90'ish TV. Retro games were not meant to be played in HD.

LED is a different type of LCD.

Since plasma pixel response times are an order of magnitude faster than LCD, and most LCDs only give you 500-600/1080 lines of motion resolution, the edge should definitely go to plasma.
