Default Question about Disney $8 Coupons and Price Matching

Hi all,

I have three Disney DVDs that I am considering re-buying on Blu-ray. I'm going to send away for the $8 off disneyupgradetoblu.com coupons that Disney offers. My question is, where is the place to get the best prices? Does Amazon.com accept these coupons? If not, will Best Buy price match Amazon.com? Will Target do the same? Any other places? The three titles are:

Haunted Mansion
Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Pixar Short Films Collection, Vol. 1

Not exactly new releases, so I doubt I would find them in any physical store.

Thanks!

Best Buy does price match online stores sometimes.
Just today they price-matched Walmart.com, and I got WALL-E for $13 after the coupon.

I hadn't considered Walmart! Do they take coupons online?

If you want to use the coupons you are going to have to use them locally. Target typically only PM with an actual ad. Not sure about Walmart but BB usually will PM Walmart and Target online. I've read some people getting them to PM Amazon but I think that is going to be very much YMMV.

On a side note, the Pixar collection almost seems pointless to me to purchase if you are already going to buy all of the Pixar movies. Aren't all of those shorts on the current blu-ray movies (minus Jack Jack attack and whatever isn't on Finding Nemo)?

Online stores never take manufacturers' coupons.

What do you mean by "online"? Do you mean the actual price match takes place online, or are you referring to the purchases?

Ah, but there are included documentaries about the beginnings of Pixar and other delightful treats.

Online only stores or store websites like Walmart and Target as well?

What a lot of people try to do is get their local retail store to price-match a website price from Best Buy or Walmart. Some have gotten stores to do that, but it is extremely different from store-to-store, even within the same chain.

Online stores just do not accept coupons of that nature.

Like CK already mentioned, your coupons will have to be used in store.

Best Buy (in my area) often will match Target.com or Walmart.com if you print out the deal you want matched and take it into the store and ask.

So I couldn't add it as a promotional code at checkout online? I've never seen one of these coupons before so I have no clue how they work. Is there a barcode to scan, or just a series of numbers/letters?

I doubt any brick and mortar store will carry these releases, since they are dated a bit. I suppose this whole thing is a waste, and I'm better off buying from Amazon, anyway.

BB does carry those movies in store and I saw Narnia and the Pixar collection at Target recently as well (didn't look for Haunted Mansion but I did see it at Toys R Us last week when picking up the Toy Story movies).

No you cannot add a promo code for the coupons but there is another thing you might be able to try. And that is to order and do a instore pickup. Since you can see if they have it in on the Best Buy website. But I am not sure if it would work or not.

Thanks, the both of you! I checked availability online through Best Buy's site and it shows all three movies as available at my local store. I think I'll send away for the coupons sometime this week, and in the meantime I'll take a trip there and see if they actually have the movies.

Hastings has it priced for $19.04 online, my local one prices it at $21.99.

If you can get a pricematch from a B&M store, as Hastings IS a B&M store, it will drop the price to $11 and change...plus tax, less coupon.

This will work but BB will have to cancel the order in store and create a new order. I've done this several times when there have been sales on the website really cheap after the store has closed just so I don't get to the store next day and they are sold out. The downside is sometimes BB is really slow about getting those online orders cancelled (just depends on the CS rep).
