Default How Important Are Your Stats?

Does anyone else hate it when you throw a party, or you have friends over and they absolutely tank your K/D or your other stats?

Example Games:

Call of Duty
Battlefield Bad Company
MAG
Mostly shooters

i mean its not that important, not the end of the world, but after putting in 60+ hours in a game you start to have something to show for it =P

i just wanna know what other people feel on the subject... maybe im a bigger nerd than i thought n no one cares

either way

That's why you create a guest account on your PS3 or have your friend or family members create a separate PS3 account.

I used to care a little bit about it, but it doesn't matter to me really. Video games are supposed to be fun, and if you are having a good time with your friends playing, I don't see the harm in it. Now, if im in the middle of say a single player campaign or RPG, I won't let anyone touch it until I am done. I like to go through a campaign by myself first and experience the game the way it's meant to be. But as far as kill/death ratios in games, I couldn't care less.

Stats are a big part of shooters, not to show to everyone else, but to be proud of myself! But I love stats in general, I'm a math guy.

i dont mind a lot, i have 2 PS3s, the majority of the gaming gets done on one, and if im having a ton of people over, i can switch them out for the night and have people use the guest account, but if we have a bunch of people over, we probably arent going to be playing shooters, more like party games or turn a sports game into a drinking game or something, shooters are a different breed of game as far as im concerned, and doesnt get much play at parties and stuff

besides, the only shooter i really play is MAG, and i just recently got good at the game and started dominating, so im still trying to fix my own stats after i tanked them, my lowest point of K/D ratio was seriously something like .45, but ive been slowly climbing, not a lot lately since i havent been playing much, and when i do, i recently switched factions so i have to start over and have none of the good equipment unlocked, but im getting there, im at like .80 now or so, hope to get it to 1 at some point

Sounds like making a guest account is s slam dunk fix for this one.

As for me,... If I have stats somewhere, I don't even know about them. I do have initials in the high score displays of a few games. I guess I'm definitively casual with gaming.

I could care less about stats they mean nothing. When I first bought Uncharted 2 only about a month ago (d'oh-late to the party) I played my first online match in the game which was the survival mode. I of course was a level 1 player, and there were two others. One was level 14, the other level 16 iirc. I dominated the entire match always being first place at the end of the round.

One of them had a mic and was going WTF How is the one beating everyone. I was just like

I'm really bad at fps games, so my stats are usually garbage and mean nothing to me. For those games, I'll also let anyone play on my account if they want, be they better than me or worse (unlikely).

My RE5 stats are my babies, especially my (Times Died) and Accuracy stats. Anybody plays it, they're playing as someone else.

I have the same opinion. I really don't care about my stats, spray and pray comes to mind sometimes. I know that eventually with enough gameplay everything will be unlocked. As long as I am having fun and kill a few before someone gets me I am good to go.

i look @ k/d ratio but i dont get mad if its not the best.
i like to have more kills than deaths as im sure everyone does.

as time goes on (im 30 now) i could care less about MY own stats. id rather have my team win the round/match/game

This is the one game that I have overall control of. No one plays it as me.

As for Bad Company, my stats are so bad, my friends can only make them better.
