United Kingdom UK Blu-ray casings?

if I order 30 days of Night from amazon UK will it be in the slim casing or "thicker" casing?
i have only ordered blurays once from amazon uk and i noticed that the pirates trilogy box set has a thicker casing than the US casings...
is this thicker casing a norm with UK blurays?

Standard casings in the UK are the thicker ones, however, i remember reading somewhere here that 30 Days of Night is available in the UK in both types

Yes most Blu-ray's in the UK come with the thicker cases.

Slims are sometimes used, with some music Blu-ray's etc, not sure about 30 Days Of Night as i dont have it.

The standard Blu-ray case in the UK is just the blue-colored version of the standard PS3 game case in the USA.

I have over 100 UK blu rays and only Casino Royale is slim like the US type. Which incidentally came free with the PS3 I bought. All purchases of Blu rays have been the thicker PS3 type cases in blue.

I don't buy from stores only online, but of those stores I have visited and looked around I have never seen a slim USA type case on the shelf of any movie. I'd say you have a ratio of 1000/1 on the slims here in the UK. I only say this because the above posts give the impression that a higher % of movies come in the slim cases, but I would say your chances are near zero.

As others have said most UK BD cases are the thicker ones. The only slim case ones I've got are The Shawshank Redemption, Baraka and Fish Tank. Also 3 of my music BD's are slim.

Some companies, like MoC use the thinner cases as standard. It seems more common with smaller distributors. About 22 of the 282 BDs I have are in the skinnier cases. Less than 10% but still quite a few.

The 30 Days of Night I got from Amazon is in the thin-style case, but that was purchased way back in April 2008.

I wish more movies came in the slim case. The thick ones are a waste of space.

Here in the Netherlands we have the slim ones, I prefer the thick ones from the UK though, easier to read the title etc..and the thick cases look better I think!

Yeah I like the thick cases too, they look good on shelves.

I purchased the 30 Days of Night from Amazon UK late last year. It came in the standard case. None of my local (Australian) or UK purchases have ever come in anything other than the 14mm cases.

I've got a few UK discs in the thin cases, 30 Days of Night, Training Day, Funny Games, Shawshank Redemption, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) and Apocalypto all come in the thin US style Elite cases, not the typical Amaray ones. Most of these were purchased on release date though, so maybe these would now be issued in the thicker cases.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre though, was only bought a few weeks back from HMV, so this definitely still comes in the thin case.

Has anyone purchased or seen the individual LOTR releases? Are these in the thin cases like the boxed set is?
