Default 300 versus Gladiator versus Troy versus Clash of the Titans

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/showdow...ientbattle.htm
300 made about 210 million domestically, Gladiator made about 188 million, Troy made about 133 million and Clash of the Titans has made about 92 million. Looks like Troy flopped.

Troy made right at $500 million worldwide. So I wouldn't call it a total flop. Just a domestic flop.

First off, a film that makes $133 million domestically is not a flop. Given Troy's $175ish million budget, with box office gross and Blu-ray/DVD purchases and rentals, Troy was anything from a flop. Having said that, when you take worldwide box office gross and Blu-ray/DVD purchases and rentals, Troy was a big success.

Getting back to the question at hand:

Gladiator - 9/10
Troy (Director's Cut) - 9/10
300 - 8/10
Clash of the Titans - 3/10

Three of them are excellent films, but Gladiator is the best. I like to think that Clash of the Titans never was made. It just isn't a good film at all.

Yeah, honestly I think 2 of them are excellent, I think Troy is a hair better than Gladiator though. Don't like 300 and never seen Clash.

Troy is still my favourite from the bunch.
300 is a very close second.
Gladiator barely falls into third.
Clash Of The Titans was garbage.

Ordered as my favorite to least favorite with over-all score:

1.) 300 is easily my favorite of the bunch because it entertains me the most but as a film I rate it 7/10
2.) Gladiator 9/10
3.) Clash of the Titans 6/10
4.) Troy 7/10. I did not like it very much at all.

Gladiator is a great movie, easily the best of the group in my opinion. 300 and Clash are cheesy and fun but not what i would call "great movies". never saw Troy.

edit: whoops i assumed we were talking about the original Clash of the Titans until i read some responses. havent seen the remake either.

As much as 300 is my all-time favorite movie, Gladiator is a better quality film. Sure, 300 is fun, has impressive SFX, and is fun to quote the whole movie after 20 viewings, Gladiator's plot is just so powerful. As for Troy, I wasn't a fan of it (a bit too slow for me, and it takes a lot to bore me), but it is worth watching every now and then. Still haven't seen Clash.

I want to see Homer's story developed into a movie. I know its done before, still The Odyssey didn't make it to the silver screens yet.

The Story of a father's voyage, and his son's quest
[Show spoiler](Telemachus didn't have a quest until the end of the story.)
Still its a good myth to be told.

Clash will top Troy and Gladiator no problem, and will probably top 300 in the end.

I haven't seen Troy, but of the other three though, Gladiator is by far the best. I liked Clash and 300 was decent but I would never watch it again.
