Default Which Le nozze di Figaro on Blu-ray?

This:

Or this:

It's nearly a tossup for me, but I wish to add this famous comic opera to my collection of BD opera. Rather, than flip a coin, please help me decide. No matter how I slice it, it's going to end up being a blind buy though.

The critical elements for me are the performances of the singers and especially their arias, the staging, the balance between the orchestra and singers, the acting (can the singers act as well as sing?), the orchestra, its direction and sound, and of course the BD sound quality including good audio mix in the surrounds and good bass sound. Thanks.

Haven't seen either, but there's this review of the 1st at DVDTALK:

Thanks! That's what I was looking for.

I'm surprised that Jeffrey Kauffman didn't write a review for it here on blu-ray.com which only lists one BD for this opera on BD from DG.

I'll consider it vote for the Opus Arte release then.

I have the Opus Arte release. It is a most enchanting one. The stage production is magnificent in every respect. Just so you know however, the time period of this production is early 19th century instead of the late 18th century. If that is an issue for you, then don't get this one or the other one for that matter. It is a very energetic production making it one of the finest.

Schrott (Figaro) and Persson (Susanna) acted as well as they sang. Their chemistry together make this a unique performance. It is one that you don't want to miss. Dorothea Röschmann gave a fine supporting performance as the countess expressing her various moods. Gerald Finley as the Count was outstanding, not just the naughty lust driven character you would expect. He had a more intellectual nature about him that one can't help to admire. Still he was outwitted by Susanna and the countess in the end. His plea for forgiveness was very touching.

The PCM 5.0 sound surely won't disappoint you. The sound is expansive, full, and very detailed. The balance between the orchestra and singers is perfectly done. The bass was a bit shy though. Turning up the subwoofer gain about 3db brought it back to normal.
