Default Spend $98 on Blu-ray WB Titles like Polar Express

Polar Express finally came to Blu-ray recently. I can't think of a better way to spend a spare $98 than on the Polar Express BR and some other WB Blu-ray titles.

Make WB go Blu!

And remember fruitcakes and Toshiba doorstops are a waste of money!

I wouldn't buy an HD DVD player if they were 50 or 25 bucks. Why waste money on a dying format when that money could be used to purchase great Blu titles.

It won't be long before they're giving Hd DVD players away with a movie purchase.

My A2 was a prize and it has only been used to sample 4 or 5 titles that came in the prize package... I asked if I could have the cash equivalent, but they said no. So, I figured that, as long as it was free, it was better in my possession as a non active unit than in the hands of some poor shmuck who doesn't know any better.

If we believe our good insider friends, there is no volume to match the stupid price of the A2 (they said something like 50.000 units across the US).

Worst that can happen though is people coming in to buy one thing, said thing being gone a long time aggo (I expect at least half of each store's supply to be gone with employees and friends), and then to still buy a unit of the wrong format (HD DVD).

I would hope that they d be pissed off at such an obvious Bait and Switch though.

There could be some sweet Backlash

I think of this as a public service message like friends don't let friends buy Toshiba doorstops.

A doorstop purchase only prolongs the format war and unnecessarily wastes money. A better use of any burning need to drop $98 would be on WB Blu-ray titles. Getting Polar Express on BR makes a very good statement.

Make WB go Blu!

Quickly....bury it in your back yard and never speak of it again.

What did Captain Jack say in POTC : DMC...."I feel soiled and unusual."

Yes, a backyard burial would be best.

I am buying the following tomorrow (all from Warner):

1. Eyes Wide Shut
2. Superman Returns
3. Gothika
4. Firewall

Where should I buy them from? Amazon? Amazon's numbers show up with Nielsen, right?

I'm going to go check out the Walmart selection of WB Blu-Ray's tomorrow. Not looking at any other movie.

I could use some Warner ones, I only have 5 right now

I get my BRs from either Amazon or BB. I don't have the patience to wait a month.

I am up to seven WB Blu-rays, some of which are without PCM or lossless in "taking one for the team." But that number will go up once HP 1-5 are released.

I'll admit I'd buy an A2 if I ran across one for $98 (plus interesting $15 HD DVDs). I'm selfish (smart?) about that.

But I also plan on taking a keen interest in almost ANY Warner's Blu-ray disc with lossless audio on it for the holiday season. Even that's a tough call because there are so many interesting Blu-ray releases coming out in the next couple months.

I thought about that. Why have another component that'll do nothing but take up space on my shelf, when I could just have more money for all the great exclusives coming out this year?

If stores are selling the players at 99 dollars how much do you think Toshiba sold them for? Kinda brings on the impression of street walking hooker selling herself.
