MPAA Lobbying for Home Theater Regulations.
I'm having hard time believing this, but what do I know.

this would just be ridiculous. why doesn't the RIAA charge us an extra fee for playing a CD in the car with friends? absolutely stupid. it will never pass. by buying a DVD or whatever, you are purchasing a license to view and show it. just another stab to make more for stupid reasons.

Well, I think most likely it is a joke considering the links to other rticles on the same page.
However, AFAIK, in Germany you have to pay monthly fee for owning TV 15 euros for each. And that's separate from cable/satelite fees. Same goes for car radios and even alarm clocks with radios. Those are cheaper 5euro per piece

So, who knows...
